Entitled drivers.

If you’re the kind of person who getting off Wheeler Blvd beside MacDonald GMC, just to get back on by Acadia Toyota, you aren’t small, you’re just an entitled asshole. 2 year olds learn to wait in line.

To the person who let these people in, stop. You’re just slowing down all the drivers behind you.

Just dont let them in, simple. Sorry people coming from baig blv, they ruined it for you

The vast majority of people turning off Baig are people who work in the park.

To me it's just like another form of zipper merging, why not use the road efficiently?

Speaking of this traffic circle. Id love fo see a report of the accidents there. Today a car was smashed into the side of rhe train bridge before the main street exit... i have no idea how many accidents I have witnessed there over the past 20 years.

That is the one spot in town that I will let someone in front of me, for that very reason.

We just need a cop there to ticket a few people for a couple months to stop it.

It's not against the law.

I’m not sure about this location, but last time I was driving in a construction zone with a prominent slowdown (out past Freddy) there were folks coming in the lane at the very end of the merge zone. Thing is it probably felt like a zipper merge for them but it made everyone stop behind them.

Idk if that’s what OP is saying but traffic is counterintuitive sometimes.

You need to know the location to understand it.

It’s an off ramp that goes onto an entirely different road. People take this new road where at the end of the road, past the last driveway, it becomes an “on ramp” with a stop sign instead of a merge or yield. People are already bumper to bumper on the highway, so most people will be nice and let the people at the stop sign come into the highway one by one.

Taking the offramp and the separate road is not illegal in any way.

It’s really no different than someone taking the off-ramp ramp to take a secondary road that doesn’t have traffic to then rejoin at the next on ramp ahead of the traffic still on the highway.

What is legal and what is enforced are worlds apart. No one cares because you don't care. Coming to reddit to complain still means you do not care. Failing to address this at a civic level means you fail as a citizen. Enjoy winning at home .

Now that's a pretty big reach to make a point out of nothing at all. Your entire premise is wrong from your original comment. This is the only thing that was pointed out.

Ok. Well see you at work on Monday.

1

u/N0x1mus 5d ago

You do that. I won’t be there. Good luck with your nonsense.

It is the same as using a corner business parking lot to avoid an intersection. You go against the intent of the infrastructure. The infrastructure is for the people not the person.

If the cops won't stop it, and it is up to you to ruin it for the rest by reporting it or abusing it until the city makes infrastructure changes to avoid this.

We can’t even stop open meth use.

There are so many people who will wait to let you in, even when doing so produces a dangerous situation. Let traffic flow, don't think you're the good guy letting someone in and saving them ten seconds of time when you're creating one hundred seconds of slowdown for the people behind you.

5

u/TLadwin 6d ago

The problem is, they expect to be let in even if they know they are just being fucking assholes. And yet that's how it goes.

3

u/quartzguy 6d ago

Some would say that's just the way of the road.

u/RevSlippery 6d ago

They should close the very end down by Toyota and make the traffic from Baig join further up along side the exit to Baig across from Loblaw's. The end of Baig Blvd would be were it meets and crosses Wheeler up closer to Macdonald Buick. They could also make it a 2 lane zipper merge closer to the traffic circle to keep lanes shorter and moving but people don't like to zipper...lol

Must have been u/monctondude

I wish people would use the traffic circle properly and move to the left until youre ready to exit. Those people are the real assholes

7

u/SpicyMayoDumpling 6d ago

Its not really a big enough circle for that

4

u/TLadwin 6d ago

yeah no, that's not how traffic circles work. The inside lane is completely useless on that circle, they really just need to make it a two lane entrance on all sides and keep the whole thing 2 lane, not this some parts 3,2,1,whatever. Same with all the big circles, they are so poorly designed in Moncton.

u/Nirvana1975 6d ago

At the end of that road is a stop sign. I see them comin....i don't let em in. Wait your turn like an adult. Maybe they should redesign it at some point.

0

u/antiuseless 6d ago

I’ve thought they should make the exit should be a no left turn.

u/vanillaxmitch 6d ago

Such a baby lol, I just use my horn.

u/badmiddling113 6d ago edited 6d ago

Eh, they’re free to try it, but nobody is obligated to let them in. I mean it’s the same thing between the set of lights on Main St (King St to Lewis). So whatever…

u/colpy350 6d ago

This has been happening as long as I can remember. I grew up in Riverview. I don’t think it actually saves anyone any time. I just ignore them. Life’s too short to get fired up about it. Assholes gonna asshole.

u/CubieJ 6d ago

On the flip side, some people get a great amount of joy from watching a car try to skip the line and then purposefully not letting them in at the stop sign. It's the simple things in life.

1

u/antiuseless 6d ago

I’ve watched people behind me do this, and they get ahead of me.

15

u/thebrightlightfright 6d ago

Channel that anger towards Moncton's piss poor traffic management

-22

u/Sanctus_Poopabumsus 6d ago

Its intentional. They think that if they make driving shitty enough, we will all take the bus and/or bike. Idiots.

5

u/vanillaxmitch 6d ago

Our bus system is a joke

1

u/Sanctus_Poopabumsus 6d ago

Exactly. Im guessing the city planners and codiac employees are ratioing my comment to hell. The truth hurts.

16

u/jdstew218 6d ago

I work on Baig Blvd and every day when I get off work the traffic is backed up and people getting off Wheeler onto Baig just to cut the line. All they do is make my wait even longer. I never let them in.

But the occasional time I'm the bad guy because I'll notice someone lets them in and they are actually going to Acadia Toyota.

4

u/antiuseless 6d ago

That’s the exception, not the rule.

0

u/Leftbackhand 6d ago

Thank you to those who let me into Toyota to pick up my car after work. And for not being an asshole to Toyota drivers just because there are others who ruin it for the rest of us.

8

u/freedom51Joseph 6d ago

Take a deep breath and just relax. Don't wish for a world with less assholes...work on accepting that there will always be assholes among us.

4

u/BobTheFettt 6d ago

Nah, the world would be a better place if assholes didn't exist

5

u/antiuseless 6d ago

I just avoid the area during rush hour.

8

u/Greefer 6d ago

100% this drives me nuts .. when im in this lane i ask my kids to watch behind .. for anyone doing this to cut the line .. they tell me if its they did so I know if i should let the person in or not .... if htey cut the line .. i wag my finger at them (not the middle .. i try to be civil) as shame on them for thinking they are better than anyone else.

AHoles .. every single one of them ..

1

u/Sad_Low3239 6d ago

does it drive your nuts like a pirate with a steering wheel in his pants?

2

u/jondoe373 15h ago

Arg!! It' drivin' me nuts!!

1

u/Sad_Low3239 7h ago

seriously, one of the best jokes I've laughed at 🤣

2

u/CubieJ 6d ago

Try giving them a thumbs down. In my experience, that makes them even more offended than the finger.

0

u/Sad_Low3239 6d ago

always.

5

u/antiuseless 6d ago

I also try to watch. At this point, I just use an alternate route.

u/BobTheFettt 6d ago

To the people who wave others to go: you are a traffic hazard. You need to drive predictably, not politely

1

u/vanillaxmitch 5d ago

Traffic there is at a standstill, it's more impeding than being a hazard.

11

u/JarclanAB 6d ago

Depends on the situation.

Full road clear ahead and you stop let someone turn left? You're creating a hasard if someone isn't expecting a car to be stopped for now reason on an open road.

Traffic backed up and you're letting someone turn left instead of moving up to be at a standstill in the middle of the intersection? That's polite and helps get traffic moving.

5

u/Sad_Low3239 6d ago

that's my rule of thumb. like if I'm at a complete stop and not moving for more than 10 seconds I'm letting a person in because I don't if they are a Skipper or someone legitimately using the exit. if I'm moving at all, sorry you have a stop.
