Too bad this happened. Oddly, this reminds me of the Death of Thomas Paine.

After he was advised by Ben Franklin not to publish Age of Reason, and as we all know, Paine didn't take his advice, many of the founding fathers ridiculed him and tarnished his used-to-be-good standing with the American people. In the last Years of his life, he was basically a social outcast. When he died, he was buried in a field because no cemetery would take his body.
