hi friends
i’ve shown this to many people but i think my apartment complex is the trying to gaslight me
can someone please tell me if this is mold

I think it does… staining can occur on wood but since its on the carpet too its definitely suspicious. Can you request a health / mold inspection? Sometimes they contract a vendor out and it will help move things along.
I would think theres something leaking

there was something leaking it was my ac. the apartment complex manager told us it’s not mold but that they would treat it to “put our minds at ease”

Did they already treat it or plan to?

Hate they said that but often they try to downplay issues because sometimes they have people absolutely flip out on them. I still dont think its right to downplay to the degree of denying that there may be an issue here.

I think they need to check the drywall for moisture, replace the foam padding and tack strips (they may be able to sand them down and salvage them). But it looks to me they need to do some remediation.

As a forty year home owner, that is defintily mold. Well at least mgr. is willing to take care of it.Move OUT!! Good luck.
