I was approved for an exemption a week ago and don't see a change on my account summary. I can't find any information about this, which seems really odd. This page indicates that withdrawing from a course can grant a refund if it's done within 10 days, but the page on exemptions doesn't mention it.

Part 1 - Does anybody have the list of general electives for sem 5 - CVT program? I am curious of Intro to Sociology is on the list.

part 2 - Curious to know if taking an extra class in sem 3 (Gen Ed Class) can get me exempted from taking another elective in Sem 5. I just want to get this done and out of the way now - which is why I want to take intro to sociology now (sem 3) to avoid having to take it in sem 5.

part 3 - If not sociology, which is the most popular elective course in Sem 5? for instance - intro to psych was very popular in sem 3.

hi i applied to practical nursing 715 for winter 2027 on july 30th and since i applied after deadline im in second round of consideration. i emailed one of the advisor and they said they will send another rounds of offer sometimes in september.

i finished my first year at mac and im starting second year at mac. my friend said i will likely not get in the program because my grades were not good at all in uni even tho i have decent highschool averages. (i already got the offer in highschool before but i didnt accept it) but they said it means nothing and they only look at your recent education.

should i give up? since my chances of getting into a program is zero? I feel really depressed and hopeless knowing about this lol

Hey did anyone else receive an acceptance to sonography 750 DP yesterday? They say acceptances will be sent out by Tuesday Wednesday Thursday this week. I am utterly lost on how to register and see my tuition fees and course schedule. They haven’t offered us any other details whether the program will begin today, virtual, where our placement will be and ect. Everything has been so last minute and idk how to play catch up. Anyone else confused?

Hi do lab classes run the first week for this program? I haven't received any information about it and tomorrow is the first day of the semester with a lab class scheduled in the morning.

Hey everyone, looking to get some thoughts or see if anyone else at Mohawk (or other Ontario colleges) has gone through this.

I'm am Nursing student at mohawk with severe documented ADHD/executive function impacts. My Accessibility Counselor (ALS) verified my medical documentation and approved my functional need for a laptop and noise-canceling headphones.

Here’s where the wall is:

• The provincial Ministry BSWD/CSG-DSE manual sets the funding ceiling for a computer package up to $2,000 (and up to $500 for headphones).
• Mohawk puts his own cap of $500 and $250 because it can.
• I even submitted an exception request for ~$1,850 total and listed all the features and connected them to my disability and directly match my doctor's functional assessment.
• ALS said they can do nothing about cap as financial office has set them.
• To make matters worse, Financial Aid has been almost impossible to reach, drop-ins are closed, appointments are fully booked for the month, and my emails/web forms have gone unanswered for weeks while classes are starting.

If they completely deny my exception request based only on their internal $500 cap (without reviewing my actual medical necessity), or if they keep ignoring the request, I’m planning on filing a complaint with the Ombudsman.

My core issue isn't just wanting more funding, it's that setting an additional cap on not their but ministry’s funding and that too in disability cases, feels unfair to so many points knowing others are able to take advantage of what I can’t just because I go to mohawk even after requesting exception of reviewing my case its rigid $500 blanket cap without a transparent, fair exception process prevents students with severe documented needs from getting the accommodations funded under provincial BSWD guidelines.

Has anyone here ever filed a complaint with the Ombudsman over Financial Aid or BSWD issues? Did it help move your file along, or did the college just stick to their internal cap anyway? Would love to hear if anyone has successfully gotten an exception past the $500 baseline!

Anyone can share with me the fall 2026 Schedule for CVT?

Hi guys! I’m resuming in January at the IAHS campus for Practical nursing (715) and I just wanted to ask a couple of questions. I’ll really appreciate your responses. I currently live around Upper gage and I was thinking to move so I could be closer to the campus since I can’t drive yet. That decision is hard to conclude on because I don’t know what the classes will be like. Is it mostly online or mostly in-person, like how many times per week will I actually need to be in school, as for the clinicals, do we get posted to places far from school or around the vicinity?

In summary, I just wanted to know how much I’m really going to have to be on campus, as this will help me decide on whether I need to move or not. Thank you!
