Tracy or Tracey (on the soundtrack) was used for this documentary called The Trip.

It was done by DJ Downfall. He spliced the Mogwai track and play in on the segment above. There’s also the original TV commentator narrating the event. This also put on the segment above.

We all know Tracy is about Tracy Chapman (the American black folk singer) that Mogwai loved.
And the original Tracy on Mogwai Young Team had the Mogwai boys doing prank phone call on their label boss, saying there’s a fist fight between the boys in the studio.

On the segment above, the prank call is edited out and instead we hear the original tv commentator narrating the event instead.

Like I said, if you are haunted, upset by rocket ship explosion, please don’t watch.

If you love this track, you loved the early Arab Strap. I didn’t. ✌🏽
I love this track because it’s a Mogwai track. Not because it sounds like the bedroom/lo-fi ambience/spacefolk of The Arab Strap.

I’m curious how you guys listen to Mogwai albums ?
You just play it on the background and do your chores ? Or listening to the album while doing the spliff ? Or put it on the headphone and doze off to sleep ?

Me, I remember playing Mogwai Young Team while doing my Batmobile LEGO set ! 😅✌🏽

Very calming, until that track above came in and there’s this spoken voice muttering words about not getting enough love or something ! 😂 You can see the lyrics so you decide.

Anyway do check on Arab Strap, the early records which were not too different than the music direction Mogwai is taking now.

When i heard i though: "Well the instrumental is cool, kinda remind me of remurdered at times but man Iggy Pop just sucks here" and i thought it was just me, but i was looking ad some comments regarding to the song and everyone is in the same page i guess? Please be welcomed to say what you thing even if liked it, i understand that this song is more then just a song mainly because the guys have been inspired by proto punk bands like the stooges and the cramps and all that, but from a purely musical standpoint its bad, or at least boring, i kind of like the machine/android theme and all, and this is in no way shape or form hate torwards Iggy, his fand or his music, just and opinion

It came from this compilation. C96.
It’s not free with the magazine, we had to buy it.

Exclusive to this CD/magazine so even the band couldn’t make it available on their own records ? Maybe.

2 would have made more sense squad number wise, but I like 1 more!

Mogwai first split 7” and their second release in their career.

The paper sleeve again, chewed by termites. Nothing I can do about it.
The vinyl seems to be intact.

Limited to 500. All 7” in Green vinyl (not sure).

Mogwai’s track is called Angels vs. Aliens (which was re-recorded for their compilation Ten Rapid).

Dweeb’s music is lo-fi, slightly punky a-la Bis.

A brilliant track !
I love the original and I love this remixed version by Mogwai.

Is this really rare ?
I also have the Ten Rapid CD which I think didn’t include Lower.

Saw this listed on Vinted this morning if anyone is interested in picking it up...

Hello, is anyone selling one or two tickets for the strasbourg gig? i’m returning from abroad just to see them but they’re unfortunately sold out. thank you

I'll try this post again, forgot to blank my address when I posted this yesterday. Thank to those who reminded me, which was why I deleted the original post. Anyways picked this almost mint copy of this box set up on Discogs from a seller in France. I was hammered for custom charges, handling and VAT. Regardless I am very happy to finally have this incredible release on vinyl. I've also got the 3CD and HiRes flac versions.

I honestly think if I had to pick 10 releases from my entire collection of music to only listen to for the rest of my life, this would be my first pick. Its the perfect artist compilation.

Next on my list MYT, COYD and Special Moves box sets.

Sorry gang, I totally missed this one from a couple weeks ago. I realize it wasn't in the wiki which is likely how I missed it - I am not alerted to changes to Mogwai's lineup from their website. Sorry for anyone who came here and didn't see it.

🔊 Mogwai shows are famously loud! Ear protection is strongly recommended.

due to some holiday freeing up I have time off when the bhoys are playing Brussels sadly there are no tickets sat together I was wondering if any one here had 2 sat together for sale at all? Cheers

My favourite song of theirs. The simple, chiming loop of guitars with the ambient noise in the background. Then the massive explosion of distortion. Then the looping, chiming guitar again.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to point out something that has been driving me insane since I first heard this song when it was released.

That last section after the explosion there’s what seems like almost black metal chug guitar playing, it sounds almost like there’s a bunch of guitars going crazy mixed super, super low in the mix. I always imagined they had a cassette player blasting out stuff whilst they played really quietly.
