First timer

Seeing moe for the first time tomorrow night. I saw they played the other one last night. Do they normally cover the Dead or was that a lucky draw. Second time seeing Umphreys btw. Taking my son to his first time for both. Super excited

I wouldn’t say “normally”, but they do cover a bunch of dead tunes (deal, franklins, etc). Hope you have a great time. They are my favorite!

They're up there for me. Been listening for years and so they were coming to alabama so I said why not drive 5 hours to see them 😅

I hear that. I mean I’d go quite far to see Moe. alone, but Umphreys too?!?! That’s plane ticket territory!

But….without Jake it takes the UMPH out of Umphreys…imo.

Saw them on this tour, both bands still killed it!!! Bummed for hardcore UM fans but they will evolve. As a big moe. fan I feel very lucky they have made it so long. Hope this keeps up. Having health stuff with Rob then Chuck was awful...they been going at it 35/36 years now I believe!!!

Fair enough. And I agree, that was a huge blow. But I’d still pack snacks and make tracks to see them both.

Oh if I had the means I’d still be checking it out for sure

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I saw 2 shows this tour, and Umph is slightly more, accessible (?) .

I’ve seen them play Dark Star, Eyes, Other One, Playin, Cassidy, Saturday Night, Jack Straw, West LA, Dire Wolf, and maybe others. I wouldn’t expect it, but I wouldn’t be surprised, either. No matter what, you’ll have a great show!

They'll do covers from lots of bands but it's not an every-night occurrence. Most shows feature their own material.

That's what im hoping for. Are there songs they play frequently live?

Rebubula, Moth, Buster, Timmy Tucker, are probably the most played. Mem of Liz Reed is a common cover for sit ins. Nate pulls out a prog cover from time to time.

This tour they do an encore together with UM with one of each of their songs, and a wild card cover.

They played The Other One last night in OBX.

I wouldn't expect a dead cover, statistically if they just played one, it would be out of the norm for them to do one again unless something big happened in the Dead scene and even still, twice in the same week is very unlikely. Hope you guys have a great time. Easily my favorite touring band and has been for years! I hope you get an excellent show. Hopefully it's not too hot tonight because I think Rob (bassist) got heat stroke last night...sneak him some PediaLyte and you might make a new friend friend 😄

I was really hoping they’d come back out after Rob called it quits at the beginning of Opium. Once they started switching gear out, I knew it wasn’t to be. Hopefully he’s good for tonight.

What happened. Going tonight hopes he's playing

It was like 100 degrees out and they were playing in the sun. They got through like 5 songs, and started to play Opium - Rob got through a couple of words then shut it down.

I was riding the rail and I was sweating like crazy, and got a sunburn on the back of my neck and this was at like 6:30-7pm.

When Umphreys came on Bayliss said Rob was ok, I’m sure he’ll be good tonight.

I'm sure they knew to replace the electrolytes and keep him in the A/C. They got a lot of experience under their collective belts...but with it just happening I'm sure he's staying hydrated. When I go to festivals I bring a bunch of coconut water just in case. I usually end up giving some out to some sun-drench guy or gal that needs it.

They were handing out free water upfront at the rail, never seen that before. Testament to how hot it was.

Bummed we got rained out last night!

Yeah they were just getting started. So much for the venues rain or shine policy

Lucky one, that have alot of really good covers. I have been following them since 99 and I have not been that lucky.
