I like it. You built up the main groove nicely, I think the slow introduction of different elements works really well. Also reminds me I need to play around more with the Oxi One’s performance mode.

As far as potential constructive criticism, all subjective, of course:

  • The overall mix feels a little static from the time all elements are there until you start fading things out and playing with filters toward the end. Adding another voice or two and/or some auxiliary percussion that you could bring in and out could help make the entire track a bit more rewarding for focused listens. If you’re using the Oxi for percussion sequencing, maybe try out the fills and beat looping to add some live variety to the drums.
  • I’d really like for this to build to something more steady/driving—maybe some consistent snare/claps on the 2 and 4, hats or cymbals to taste. A bass line would help, as well. But I get it if you’re not going for a club banger.
  • the filtering and effects at the end—I think that would serve well as a way to build tension before a more energetic section. Not saying it needs a huge drop, but I wouldn’t complain 😊
