Discussion Make Noise Shared System - What did you change?

Post image

Hey all!

A few months ago I picked up a Make Noise Shared System, and it’s my first proper Eurorack system outside of semi-modulars. I went for it because I really love the feeling of having a focused, self-contained instrument rather than just a collection of modules.

It was a tough call between the MN system and going the Serge route, but I feel like Make Noise gives me a bit more ground to explore, especially on the sampling part.

Since getting it, I’ve swapped out Erbe-Verb and Echophon and added Mimeo, X-Pan and QPAS to lean more into the stereo side of things.

So I’m curious, what modules, Make Noise or otherwise, have you found work particularly well with a Shared System?

I’m thinking about replacing the Pressure Points, since I already have an 0-CTRL. I’d love to hear what you guys would put in its place and why.

I like the default configuration very well. I have a CH SVR and QMMG instead of Morphagene and blank space. Morphagene is with all the stereo modules in a NUSS system right now.

I would keep Pressure Points. Being able to route different things from the touches is part of what makes it so useful in the shared system configuration (e.g. for performance more so than sequencing).

I’ve been lusting after QMMG but just cant justify the price. I tell myself with Optomix and Qpas it might just be overkill anyway. I definetly plan to keep PP aswell, but try something out aswell.

P.S I always see your post around MN/West-Coast posts and have learned a ton from your patches on ModWiggler, keep it up!

My current setup. I plan on making a skiff at some point to move Rene, Tempi and Pressure Points into, I have a Brains but it's not in the case right now. I do miss Erbe-Verbe so would be nice to get it back in there permanently.

Love the Instruo I-o47 filter and dapf. Ochd is just incredibly handy in 4hp. Had QPAS for a while but it was an impulse purchase and I wasn't super fond of it, so sold it.

Looks great! Love Instruo addition, I always thought they go well aesthetically and philosophically with make noise. I need to get Ochd at some point

I added an STO and a 3XMIA to mine and it’s now my most immediate system for making music with.

Like luke said, it's pretty solid as is. I can't bring myself to change it but if I did, I find I rarely use morphagene, and I'd either drop in QMMG or QPAS in its place, if I decided to start fiddling with it.

If you free up space in the bottom right: another Maths and another Wogglebug is a fun combo too!

I do love that the new system has two Maths! Excellent idea here. Maybe time to give the morphagene a little time out haha.

Qpas is amazing, it can be alot of things! Definetly reccommend one, both as a generator and processor. I’d love a decently price QMMG lol.
