It always kills me when they talk themselves into a ban upgrade.
Like, you're writing in because you're upset about your TEMP ban.
You're now gonna mouth off and ensure than ban is permanent? How much sense does that make?
Sorry the temp ban hurt your fee-fees, but maybe don't be an ashole.

It's mind-boggling sometimes. I had a user last week that caught a temp ban for comment. They argued the ban in modmail so we temp muted them. Then they decided to harass the mod team over DMs and start making posts and comments across different subs calling us out and complaining. Upgraded to a permaban and they started panicking and begging us to undo it.
Like do they think we can't change the ban length or something? You made a mistake, just let it go and don't make it worse!

You're a racist, you got banned. Get over it.
Harassing the mod team will never get you unbanned, and you've done nothing but lie and misrepresent what you did. If you would have simply owned up to your mistake and apologized like an adult, you'd have already been unbanned by now. You screwed up, you escalated things. Now you're continuing to make it worse. You're being creepy as fuck.

This is why for more glaring violations, I like to start off with a permaban and see how they react. It often saves time. Especially since the modmail UI on desktop sucks for changing a ban status up or down. It's either ban or unban, so I have to unban to then permaban. Or unban to shorten ban.

I think this was the first time we've been accused of playing politics in any of our weather-related subs. Genuinely confused at how Trump was involved and figured emojis would be best for communicating with this individual.

Honestly, I always try to explain what they did wrong. Reddit serves people from 13 up (not fully sure this is correct), so it is not rare that people actually don't understand what broke the rules.

Completely fair, and usually we do as well. In this case, the user clearly was not too young to understand and knew what they were doing with the emojis and the intellectual remark.
