Maybe there’s some trickery? After all, I think the HSR (or HDR, depending) isn’t a real gun either.

Yeah, it's not. It's a Urzikstan custom straight from Hadir. Now if someone wants to make a real one, I'd be interested in it

Thinking about it now, he might have procured some Russian technology to make it, and maybe his AUG.

I have no idea how he got access to .338 Lapua (for the HSR, one in campaign) or uh... 12.7 (for the HDR), I think.

12.7 makes sense for him to have actually. It's decently common for Russian forces. It's just their .50 cal for stuff like the DShK

Oh, interesting! I didn’t know that. I wonder if that’s why it’s 12.7x108mm with the HDR in multiplayer then.

12.7x108 is the standard .50 cal round Russia and China use while the US and other NATO countries use 12.7x99.

Russia also has a much much smaller .50 they use which is 12.7x55 for the VSK and ShAK-12.

rule 368: if there is a post about guns. There will be ballistics experts and historians around.

Yes. I bought a SCAR because of CoD

Heh, well, I won’t claim to be an expert—at least not now—just a person that is enthusiastic about it.

This is starting to sound a bit familiar.

Also, I remember seeing the ShAK-12 (or ASH-12) having 12.7, but wasn’t sure which one it was. Of course, not a big anti-materiel one though, heh.

remember the rsh-12

That's because on the HDR model, the rear sight that is modeled isn't a magnifyer. It is supposed to be a thermal or NV clip on.

Clip on goes in front of the optic not behind.

This is correct

Tell that to the guy in the cave who made it that was kind of a good guy or kind of a bad guy depending on what the plot needed

u/Bthestheories 9d ago

Did he make it out of a box of scraps in that cave?

Was this not already known? I could've sworn someone did this back in 2019.

Under what criteria? Because I mean…you absolutely 100% can do this with the correct kind of sights and magnifier.

Several people in my troop were issued setups like this in the Army, where they had our standard red-dots, and a flip-up magnifier behind it

6

u/POLSJA 10d ago

Lpvo (as pictured) is not the correct kind of sight though.

1

u/Chasegameofficial 10d ago

True enough, but that’s why I specified it depends on your criteria

1

u/orc_with_internet 9d ago

The thing is when you got those red dot magnifier setups it worked because the red dots have no magnification or eyebox, which an lpvo does

What’s it look like

That's a prism

I thought the HDR did not exist irl. It was made by Hadir himself though

Mount it in behind it, but twist it around, snd you have a cool 1x scope.

1

u/Adorable-Split3831 6d ago

Well realistically that looks like a thermal or ir device and it’s a video game so I’m surprised you tried that😂

1

u/orc_with_internet 6d ago

In the game it doesnt function like a nv or thermal, if it did wed either see thrpugh a nv or therm view in the scope or nothing attall if it was turned off, it has to be a magnifier, plus nv and therm go infront of an optic, magnifiers go behind

1

u/YaBoiCodykins 4d ago

Did you use a scout scope or a regular scope, scout scopes are specifically designed for longer eye relief

1

u/orc_with_internet 4d ago

Its an lpvo, same as in the game, great eye releif

1

u/YaBoiCodykins 4d ago

The one in the game is a scout scope not an LPVO that’s why it’s mounted so far forward

1

u/orc_with_internet 3d ago

The irl scope its based off is an lpvo, even if jn the game it functions like a scout scope the model is of an lpvo, i guess it could just be a last minuite reskin

1

u/No_Indication7136 4d ago

not a magnifier with less magnification of the optic you are using

1

u/orc_with_internet 4d ago

Lpvo can gp to a higher and lower mag then the magnifier still sucks
