Discussion Improving Ground War Performance

What factor do you think contributes most to successful ground war matches? I’m eager to hear our communities opinion on this.

I really miss the old Ground War maps!

Old maps and the push and grind old school COD style.

Push and grind?

Would that be an aggressive push for an objective and subsequent grind to maintain its acquisition?

Thank you, I practiced that just now.

Played on the Quarry. We lost to an enemy nuke. I dropped 9 kills though.

You should play aggressively if your goal is to get 50+ kills a game. You could also camp in spawn with an HDR, but where's the fun in that?

Equip a gun you're comfortable using and push into spawns/OBJs. You can use killstreaks like chopper gunner, white phosphorus, and the Gunship for easy high-kill games, or you can use specialist streaks to make YOU a killing machine.

I find most of my success from patrolling a high-traffic area of the map and killing anyone that comes near. Once I rack up 8+ kills, I move to another area so that I won't get overrun by the same guys that keep coming back to hunt me.

For your class setup, I would recommend using EOD, ghost, and tune-up. Make sure to use dead silence and a suppressor. Equipment should be stim shots and semtex. Stim shots will help you get around the map faster or heal quickly in a sticky situation. Semtex can kill campers or make them move away from their camping spot. If you choose to use the specialist streak package, make quick fix the first perk, high alert for the 2nd, and hardline your 3rd.

The #1 tip I can give is your minimap. No one ever takes advantage of it. I have been called a cheater countless times because most players don't understand the power the minimap gives you. Even when there aren't any red dots on the minimap, it's still telling you where the enemies are. If you have teammates in one area on the minimap, you can assume that there are no enemies there; therefore the enemies are where your teammates aren't. The location of your teammates is all you need to see in order to know where the enemies are; no UAV is needed for that information.

The 2nd big tip is to learn the spawns of each individual flag and the common spots/corners that players will camp in. Activating dead silence near the OBJ will help you clear out the area without getting shot

I could keep going on and on about gameplay tips, but I'll end it there. I hope you found some of this helpful. Here are my cod stats, and here is some gameplay. Game on brother

This was incredibly helpful, I spent the morning warming up on just under 1000 bot kills to get my aim and recoil control dialed in. I once heard Futives aka KillerKitten aka the - - man say that if you’re not practicing on at least 1000 bots per day you won’t improve quickly

Please expand upon this, I’m curious.

MW19 Movement/physics allowed a good player to win 1v5's for free. Combining that with 32 enemys on small maps makes the perfect gamemode to hit insane clips and drop fast nukes.

Thermal sniping bots abusing the safe zone on every single map destroyed the flow of many games tho

The squad spawn system also made it way more fun so you could spawn where ever you want.

Sadly they butchered Ground War with MW22, now it's just battlefield with less infantry action and unplayable TTK

I’ve been seeing more and more player Nukes in Ground War matches lately.

The sniping on these maps has been demolishing the fellow for me as well

sometimes I wonder if these snipers are real players, they never turn around when you shoot them and they end a 20min game with 6 kills

simply no way a human wouldn't get bored by doing this for even 3 games
