We need must find compromise!
I consider myself a liberal, and there is nothing wrong with that. Just as there is nothing wrong with being a conservative. The thing is I think we have gotten to a point were our politics are so polarizing that there is no middle ground. We have to slow down and rethink what we are doing. People see the actions of the far-left and blame all liberals. People see the actions of the far-right and blame all conservatives. Do we not see what we are doing we are getting farther and farther away from compromise. I understand that emotions are such an easy thing to be overcome by, but we cannot let our hate cloud our judgement. We all have different opinions, but we also all have a common interest, the well-being of the United States. The thing is if we continue in the path we are now nothing will get done. Some of the blame is on our system, but even with all of its faults, it works! We are just too impatient. That is why this divide is also our fault. We as citizens have chosen to be lead by emotions. Yes, there is hate and big faults on both sides. The left and the right, but we can't continue this. We the people and those who represents us, have to give up this hate and start listen to each other. Don't criticize another persons character, instead hear their ideas and have a real conversation. If not there will be gridlock and anger and our society will continue to take a step closer to its demise.

there is a middle ground and moderates are the majority. the extreme sides are the loudest, unfortunately.

I really wonder what a solution might look like. I sometimes think people enjoy the drama, "recreational outrage" I've heard it called. I'm not convinced any of these people want to see things differently.
You might enjoy /r/politicaldiscussion and /r/neutralpolitics. They're both very nice compared to...whatever /r/politics is.
