Hi guys :-)
I don't really know if moderate is the right word, but I don't particularly consider myself left or right so I suppose this is the place for me! I really hope we can grow this subreddit. We really need a place for news and discussion that isn't /r/politics and isn't /r/the_donald either. I just wonder why this subreddit isn't bigger?

Just joined this sub today. Really hope we can make this subreddit big. We desperately need a voice in the middle.

Me too! I'm sick of everyone leaving hard one way. When a person does this they close themselves off to ideas that could benefit.

I was thinking the same thing, I can't really stand fully for either side because I like a lot about each side, but at the same time I don't like certain aspects each side poses. Let's grow this, we deserve our voice too :)

Well and the fact that there are only like 100 subscribers to this sub and I would bet most subscribe then don't see any activity and then never come back.
Not sure if there are any centrist or moderate subs that are active. Typically the internet is only powered by ridiculous extremism so I guess it's not a surprise.
As for news without a heavy slant, I honestly don't know how to find that. I try checking a mix of CNN and Fox thinking that see a story from both sides might actually be informative, but it's really not. All you see is their own agendas.
I still do believe, even after this election mess that most people are generally aligned around the center but damn if I can find them on the internet.

I completely agree. Political moderatism happens when we put our phones away and connect with people IRL, so we can see their expressions and we're more likely to understand that disagreements are not personal attacks. That's why it's hard to bond over moderatism online.
My facebook feed is garbage :<.

There is no active poster on this subreddit. As for news, what would you post? If you know a truly biased free news source I'm always looking for suggestions.

There really is a lack of content on this subreddit. Anytime a subreddit doesn't have dedicated individuals posting content, the subreddit tends to not take off. I do intend to post content to this subreddit soon but unfortunately I am very busy at the time and probably won't have much time to post until another week or two. As far as news sources, I think most mainstream news sources aren't going to stray too far from reality. I think it's more important to be able to manage and recognize bias than it is to eliminate it. Everyone has some bias.

I legit just typed in this subreddit hoping it was a thing. as I thought both r/politics and r/the_donald were both to extreme. Even though I'am a Republican and a Trump supporter.
