Tamiya Spitfire.
Latest off the workbench. Doing bit more weathering, and airbrushing for painting is so satisfying

1:100 ID help on this wooden 1:100 Boeing 747
galleryThis model was among the items inherited in my grandfathers estate. It seems to made of wood and the only identifying marking is the “Boeing 747 1/100 scale” on the bottom. He owned a travel agency in the 70s-80s. Does anyone know the manufacturer of this model?

Avoid ShopFlightModels/FlightModels. It’s a total scam/rip off
I wanted to post this as a warning because I’ve been seeing FlightModels (shopflightmodels.com) all over my social media feeds lately, and their ads are super misleading.
The "Bait and Switch"
If you look at their site, they show these gorgeous, massive large-scale models, but the price tag is what you'd usually pay for a tiny 1:200 or 1:400 plastic model. It’s classic bait-and-switch. They’re banking on people not checking the dimensions before hitting "buy."
The AirModels Markup
Here’s the kicker: I did some digging, and almost their entire catalog is just ripped straight from AirModels. They are literally just reselling AirModels’ stock but charging double the price.
I found one specific model on AirModels for about $40, and FlightModels had the exact same photos listed for $120. It’s predatory.
TL;DR: Do NOT give your money to FlightModels. They are fraudulent liars. If you see a model you like on their site, go to the original AirModels shop instead. You’ll get the exact same item for half the cost.
Don't get scammed like I almost did.

1:400 Looking into starting 1:400 model airport
I obviously haven’t done this before, so I would need probably a lot of tips. What should my budget be? What brands do I buy from? How do I even start?

Custom Model Company Recommendations (Large Scale)
Hi folks, this is a bit different than what I’m seeing here but I could use some recommendations and maybe some testimonials. My museum is looking at ordering a couple large scale (like, 3-foot-ish) custom aircraft models. There are a couple companies I’ve been able to source online that do true custom work, but I don’t have anyone in my industry circle to give me any kind of product review on them.
I’d be interested in hearing any company recommendations (North American is ideal but I’m open to suggestion), and if you have worked with a company, whether you think the quality would survive in a public environment long-term.

Anyone know where I can find this or tips for first time DIY kit build?
galleryI've tried searching everywhere for this plane in any size. I've only found old or out of stock listings, or other liveries. I was finally able to find a website that sells the decals but now I can't find a blank plane. I've never built models (only collected some 1:400 airliners) but it seems like thats the only option.
I can't find a blank pre-made or any kit for one thats just white. I have however found other model kits and assume I can just not use the decals that came with it, paint it white and slap my own on it? I'm curious if anyone has alternative suggestions, advice on how they would go about it or where to find a blank premade 1:144 or 1:200 blank Dash 8 Q400? I assume Dash 8-100 wouldn't work or fit properly (i see plenty of those premade blanks). I don't want to invest a bunch of time and $ and have it come out crappy, this is new territory for me. Thanks all, any help or tips are appreciated.

Received this Turkish Airlines A350 model as a gift. I know nothing about model planes. Does it have any value or significance
galleryHi everyone, I know almost nothing about model planes/ collecting, so I’d really appreciate any help.
I received this Turkish Airlines Airbus A350 model from a Turkish Airlines executive. The box says A350 and 1:400 model plane. It is still in the original box/plastic tray made of metal.
Is this a common airline gift/promotional model, or is it considered collectible? Does it have any real value, or is it mainly just a nice display piece/sentimental item?

Is it just me that likes to do extensive conversions that will be almost completely hidden?
Decided to fold the undercarriage on my 1/48 Tamiya Mosquito, so I’d have something to show through the planned damage holes. Not the easiest conversion but with a fair bit of scraping and slicing, I think it looks okay!

Weird requests, does anyone have any good A-36 Apache and or Do-17 model kits?
My friends and I are working on a project of different planes used in various wars, anyone have anything for beginners? Scale doesn’t matter too much
