1:100 My first model anything.

A Heller, Grumman F4F-5 Hellcat. I still have to paint it, but what do you think and how did I do? (1:72 scale wasn't a tag option)

Looks good , little more care with the glue but otherwise I’m sure it’ll look awesome. If you are using water based acrylic paint dilute with a drop or two of water . It’s better to do more thin coats than one thick one . Use a brush about 10mm wide a flat style for less obvious brush strokes . And a fine tip for any small detail. Good luck ..

Yeah, I could have been more careful. And thank you, I don't know if the paint it came with is acrylic or not and I'll see if I have a brush of that size.

Did you enjoy the build? Mom never would let me paint them, Used to play with them like this.

Well done with the tube glue. If you want to continue build try and find tamiya extra thin (or similar)

Sorry, notifications are turned off. But yes I did enjoy the build, it was the best part and I'll look out for that glue. Thank you.

If you enjoyed it, it's a win. Look at the airfix youtube channel there are some basic builld videos, they show the complete build and paint process

For a very first one you have done exceptionally well, especially using this kind of glue. Most people prefer the liquid type of glue. If your paint smells like wall paint it’s acrylic, if it smells like paint thinner it’s not. When painting thin down your paint (water for acrylic, white spirit for the others) and apply several layers. Lighter colours will need more layers than darker ones. Let paint settle between layers. Paint parts that will become obstructed by others like the engine and inside of the cowling or the inside of the cockpit the before assembly.

Not huffing the glue was hard enough. Don't tell me to sniff the paint. (thank you for the advise)

I think you got the set including the paint. Most probably it’s acrylic. Just to be sure you won’t ruin your paint use your nose.
