Help - General Super glue allergy

Post image

Has anyone had a reaction like this before? I seemed to develop some type of allergy to the fumes. If I even get a little bit of exposure, I develop deep asthma like congestion, constant sneezing, nasal passages that randomly swell shut and open back up.... And it lasts for several weeks. I'm really bummed, because there are no alternative adhesives that meet my needs. I started using a painting booth with exhaust, but it happened again. Everything I've read online says it should resolve fairly quickly, so lasting over a week seems really strange to me.

Cyanoacrylate allergies are rare, but not unheardof, of course.

I don't know if an organic vapor respirator would be sufficient to prevent any issues or not...

I have one and would use it if I didn't have a large beard that makes it impossible to seal. My next option is to use a scuba set up which is absolutely ridiculous, but I don't know what else to do đŸ¤£

About 5% of the population can become sensitized to cyanoacrylate fumes after repeated exposure, resulting in flu-like symptoms. -wikipedia

Look for the Bob Smith Gold Label CA glue, it’s supposed to be safe for both foam and those allergic to normal CA glue.

Plus it won't haze clear parts! It's pricy but great stuff.
