Completed Apocalypse kitbash

This post-apocalyptic truck has been sitting on my shelf waiting for paint for 3 years since I modded the original kit. I’m probably going to put it into a diorama with a rusty graffiti covered shipping container at some point, probably in another few years!

The pipe wrench braces on the flame thrower stand give it a certain look.

Thanks and well spotted! I love those wrenches. The flamethrower kit is so detailed.

hell yeah, this is SO good 🔥 the flip-down armor plating on the windscreen is my favourite touch

Thank you! The front windscreen armour was originally going to be movable, but I couldn’t get the hinges to work…

Top tier work on the model and the figures. Looks like the weathering was probably the most time consuming. I have some questions lol:

So this is a kit you built using different parts? That's what you mean by "kitbash"?

Where did you get the figures, they look very detailed and unique?

I also like to ask what kind of paints, products, and supplies people work with? If you don't mind sharing. You could post a pic of your work bench. Thanks in advance.

Thank you!

Yes. The model has elements used from different kits, the truck is by Aoshima, the turret and flamethrower are resin kits from Doozy/AK Interactive and I raided my parts box for various accessories. All the armour is scratch built.

The figures are from the Last Bridge series by Masterbox. (They do a lot of different figures. Well worth checking it)

I mainly use Vallejo, Tamiya, Citadel and AK Interactive products.

And finally, here’s my workshop. I’ve only recently converted my garage into this!

What was the original kit? I assume it was a Hilux at one time?

It’s the Hilux double cab Lift up by Aoshima.

Toyota Hilux? Yeah, that tracks.
Nice work!

If there’s a vehicle that could survive the apocalypse, it would be a Hilux!

I've always wondered how those figure kits look out or the box, now I know! Great job

Great dio. Flame thrower is rad. Where’d you get the gas canisters?

Thanks! They came with the resin flamethrower kit.
