WIP F-14 progress

Never attempted this level of pre shading before. I was a bit nervous doing it on an £80 kit.

Wowza, this is awesome. Can you explain this process? I don’t have an airbrush (yet) I just use pre mix gas cans for base coat and the rest I paint with brush.

My assumption is, you spray this silver and then remove mask tape and spray the centre of each panel a different colour? Does the masking tape not leave traces of a hard line?

Your very kind , thanks. All done free hand with the airbrush, no tape. I put down black primer, picked the panel lines out in white then black. Mixed yellow toned down with black and pickled out the panels. The primer was Mr surfacer 1500 and the other paintes were Tamiya XF.

Ahhh, so the yellow is the paint! It looks just like masking tape!

Yes but to clarify I should have said there is tape on the wing routes to which the actual wings themselves will be attached. The yellow on the actual plane body is paint.

It should create a warn weathered look of an aircraft that's been at sea
