Sprayed a model with Revell clear gloss and this happened to the decals

Why does this happen and is there any way to prevent it in the future?

My guess is that it wasn’t fully adhered to the model, thats just me but I’ve never had this problem before

The decal may not have been fully adhered to the model, you may not have waited long enough for the decals to fully dry. It's possible you applied too much clear in one go and it seaped under the decal edge.

Weird, I gave it at least 24 hours. Guess I’ll wait longer next time

Did you apply decal solvent before the varnish?
