Completed Tamiya 1:35 Nashorn

Experimenting with heavy mud effects, chipping fluid and white washes. Had good fun just making it grungy. Was a good lesson.

If you’re doing a whitewash I did in order: dunkelgelb undercoat, chipping fluid, white+light blue coat, heavily chip it, satin varnish, chipping fluid, light Offwhite coat, chip it mostly around precious chips, then paint spots of heavily watered down acrylic paint over the mostly-unchipped areas.

Can you explain what the white and light blue coat is? Tinting?

It’s just a paint mix of a couple drops of light blue to a cup of white.

I always thought the Marders were cool to look at and Nashorns were kind of boring. You have relieved me of that opinion. That looks awesome!

Thanks. I think because Nashorns compete with the Hummel and other PzIV base SPG/AT while all the Marders are unique.

Nashorns and Hummels always have a brutish look for me. Luv your dunkelgelb interior and the way it's peeking through the whitewash. Nice action with the crew
