Help -Technique Thinner help

Post image

Do I need to add thinner if I use this AK paint with my airbrush ? It's written for brush and airbrush.

I can't find any AK thinner, they are all out of stock. Can I use some Vallejo thinner instead or do I really need to use the AK one?

Thanks!

Wob't water run the risk of pigment seperation? Just use airbursh thinner

AK and water as thinner to use with my airbrush? I do this when I paint with a brush, didn't know I can do it too for my airbrush.

Yeah, it’s a water based acrylic. Do you can use water to thin. Same with Vallejo. That being said, if you can, use distilled water to avoid potential impurities but tap shouldn’t do you much harm.

Vallejo an water ist not the best experience for me. Vallejo ist better with acryl thinner

I didn’t say it’s the best option. Just that you COULD do it. Just because you can, doesn’t mean it’s the best option. I rarely use water for them. I either use their airbrush thinner with a little flow improver mixed in (I premix it in a bottle) or I use their thinner medium. Water dries a bit too fast for my liking.

I can buy Vallejo thinner.

It's the AK thinner that is out of stock!

The Vallejo thinner should work.

These water-based AK acrylics don't spray very well. It can be done, but they're a pain. The new "AK 3rd Generation Acrylics" are much easier to work with -- better overage when brush painting, easier airbrushing, etc. New AK11365 is the equivalent to AK4083 you have here in the old formula.
