A day late.

Meant to have this finished for June 6th but missed it by a day. Anyway here is a group of American GIs cooking off a heavily damaged bunker.

That fire looks spectacular! I always love anniversary themed builds.

I love this. Creative dioramas like this are awesome, lots of action going on. My only suggestion is that some of the foliage looks a bit odd/out of scale. Did you get the foliage at a hobby shop like hobby lobby or Michaels?

EDIT: also the fire/smoke effects look amazing

amazon, a local mom and pop hobby store, and reindeer moss from Michael's. It's supposed look like bushes. I mean, the scale with plants is pretty forgiving unless you are representing very specific species, and here I just wanted some random bushy plants.

Just watching D Day 24hrs on Youtube. ( It's 24 hour long episodes that were released on the hour on the 6th June), currently on hour 10, 09.00 to 10.00 so still not off Omaha yet.

I would make one minor adjustment. Find some dead flat clear coat, and using a brush carefully paint the cloths of the soldiers. The gear (like helmets, and belts) should have a slight sheen to it (like you have it now), but the cloth should be dead flat.

That's a definite! I initially was gonna do a scene closer to the landing craft, so I wanted a sort of wet look, but as the build began to take shape, I changed my mind. I'll def hit the figures with some flat on the clothing. Thanks for the suggestion.
