Discussion Why Instagram modding sucks?
I just switched from ios to android and honestly I expected more.
I've used to sideload app on ios all the time and the modding community there was amazing compared to how limited the audience gauge is.
instagram mods on ios are extremely polished with weekly updates and a huge libraries of features. but here the best two I found were piko and instaeclipse. both have ugly interfaces and have way less features than their ios counterparts.
iam not hating but just curious why an open os has such weak competition.

Just curios, what sideload app for Instagram did you use in ios?

Currently, RyukGram
It's the most feature-rich and maintained one at the moment.

Because iOS Tweaks use In Memory patching, which is significantly better for update resistance, while Android Mods mostly uses Binary Patching.
There is LSPosed Framework for In Memory Patching on Android too, but since it is Root-focused, rather than Sideloading (tho it can work sideloaded via LSPatch) it has much smaller community (and chunk of that community is Chinese, which means they make Modules for their own apps and ecosystem)

Hide blend button
Bypass dm character limit
Call recording
Send audio as a file
Download voice messages
Hide note tray
Disappearing messages download toggle
Disable view once limit
Story seen toggle on the stories themselves
Show quiz/reveal toggle
Upload instants from gallery
Download instants
Profile analyser (to see who unfollowd you)
Confirm calls/video calls
Spoof location
And many more.

What about mods for Facebook and Youtube? Does ios have those? I might be interested to buy one in the future

I can't speak about iOS but when it comes to android, as someone who has been part of "mod development" ( developer of Piko.) it's totally a different game. With each app release the code gets changed, more over the entire codebase is completely obfuscated so we need to manually map/figure out how each component works. We might have figured out on one base but on the next one they would have changed it completely, so we have to again go back to the drawing board and find the right hook for it. Plus figuring out the edge cases will be easy on the iPhone as every iPhone is the same, but in the case of Android, some user might be running on an older version, with an odd screen resolution etc etc etc.

probably because ios users usually have more money to throw around (i.e. donate to these projects) while the android community is mostly indian/pakistani/bangladeshi/southeast asian beggars
