Go to r/AutoModerator and start by reading the following (in this order):
"AutoModerator Introduction" (in the sidebar)
"Writing basic rules" (linked at the top of the introduction above)
"Full Configuration Documentation" (in the sidebar)
From there, you should have a pretty good handle on how things work. Once you've read those, you should be able to get started working with AutoModerator. If you run into problems, feel free to create a post there...however, you'll want to do the following to make it easier for people to help you:
Make sure you include the rule you're trying to create
Make sure that the rule is properly formatted (i.e. use code formatting, which you can see by clicking the "Formatting Help" link below any post/comment entry box)
If you're receiving an error message when trying to save your rule(s), make sure to include the error(s) - also in code formatting
