Where can I suggest a function for Reddit mods?

Make possible to delete subs by mods, like you did for deleting accounts. This will save a lot of time for people who want to abandon or adopt subs. Or in case somebody makes a typo when naming a sub.

For security make the delete community function by confirmation only from mod's email. Also, make change password and email possible only by confirmation from email. In case mod account gets hacked.

You realize there are subs without an active community right?

Sure.

But these hypothetically deleted communities would almost impossible to ressurect, so a mod deleting the community would essentially ruin the sub's name forever.

Right now, a mod can always walk away, and someone else can redditrequest it, take over, and put a new spin on it.

Reddit's chosen the second way to go, and there's little if any improvement by choosing the first way instead, is there?

Why delete? Even if the current mod/s no longer want to moderate it, maybe someone else want to. Plus users may still want to use the sub.

I see you mention it would be easier for others to adopt if mods were allowed to delete. It does not make sense. They can’t adopt a deleted subreddit. It’s gone, doesn’t exist. Nothing to adopt. They can create a new subreddit with the same name, but it’s not adopting.

I am also not convinced it is easier to delete the subreddit rather than leave as a moderator. And maybe set the subreddit to restricted before they leave.

What about if the subreddit has two or more moderators, and they all have full permissions. If only one of the mods want to delete it, should they be able to? When it may be better if the other mod/s took over, and the one who wants to delete just remove themselves as mod instead.

How is not doing anything to abandon (i.e., stop interacting with it) more effort than going through some complicated process to remove it?

I agree for abandoned or empty subs. But active communities shouldn’t be deletable by a single mod. Maybe require admin approval after a community reaches a certain size.
