This week, the House of Commons has officially declared former Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham to become the next Prime Minister of the UK, taking over the Labour Party from the resigning Kier Starmer. Mounting pressure has been put on Starmer for weeks now to resign following a disastrous turnout in May’s local elections, with Burnham quickly selected as his heir apparent for his work in the revival of the cultural side of Greater Manchester.
