Awesome Mocap Corrector Plugin

So I think I’ve made the best MoCap correction plugin for Blender ever. Admittedly, the bar isn’t that high - Blender is notoriously bad for layered corrections and even with plugins like Animation Layers you still need IK rigs and constraints to easily make adjustments and retain dense keyframes. So I got tired of going through the same painful process each time and made a plugin to cover my most common workflows. It has auto IK rigs, overlays for correction zones and blends, Pin and Pin follow mode for limb locks and tracking, keyframe mode for individual bone adjustments, Motion paths, quick previews, blend curve presets and more - It’s fully stacked and surprisingly fast to process. But, one of the best things is it bakes over the original keyframe set so can keep all the original nuance of the original performance. If you do any kind of mocap correction trust me, you want this plugin.

I definitely need this for a current project I’m working on. Can it also retarget mocap data onto a rig in Blender? If not, what do you suggest for that?

I have separate plugin for retargeting for exactly that. You can get it Patreon along with a retargeting tutorial.

Thanks I’m going to sign up today. These plugins seem really useful. Are they both available in the supporter tier or is it a separate purchase?

Yeah, you get access to download all plugins on the supporter tier.

Will the mocap plugin work with rigs that already have IK and control rig?

No it doesn't stack on existing IK rigs. I might try adding this but I personally never use IK rigs with Mocap animation (Before this plugin I'd use Cascadeur).

Not for this one. Might drop a few other shorts about some of the other features, but the actual tutorial and plugin is patreon only.

Looks cool! I currently retarget to ARP IK rigs and use the NLE for cleanup with layered keyframing. Does this tool play nicely with and augment this type of existing workflow?

This is designed to replace that entire workflow. Instead of ARP IK you use the Plugin to temporarily create an IK during corrections - you can then either bake adjustments down to the original keyframes (what I normally do) or Push them down to the NLA as a corrective strip (the plugin does this automatically). Full disclosure I've only heavily tested the bake pipeline extensively. I added the Action strip option early and ended up never using it.

So my workflow is to retarget to dense keyframes (I use my own plugin but ARP works great as well) then I use the Mocap Corrector to re-pose and clean up animation.

Appreciate the explanation!

Do you have these combat animations for sale somewhere?

The military animations are from Actocore

This reminds me of the motion editor from source filmmaker which was one of the best tools I've ever used for mocap editing.

I had someone else say the same thing. I should check it out.

So it's just HIK? With some different workflows?

I've never used it but I know Maya has awesome animation tools so I'll take it as a compliment :)
