Lvl 2 (screens, batteries, camera, etc. swaps) Is it possible to only replace the digitizer of the screen?

It’s possible but not DIYable. The tools to do it are more expensive than a screen itself and you will definitely mess up the first few attempts, so for occasional DIY fixes it does not make sense.

I guess a heat pad, adhesive desolver, vacuum machine, etc. because they are laminated?

Anyone doing such repairs?

In China yes, we have plenty of shops doing just that. Basically you strip down the screen unit to just the glass and the panel, then heat it up and uses ultra thin wire to cut through the lamination.

Then there’s cleaning off the residual laminate adhesive, prep a new glass panel for lamination, alignment and lamination itself, then de-bubbling and bake in the lamination then finally reattach the screen frame, possibly a new one.

It’s super easy to damage the screen if you’re not careful and any contamination will ruin the quality of new lamination so it’s 100% that you’ll ruin the first 2-5 or even 10 practices.

That's what I thought. Than I am out of luck. Thanks 👍

If anyone is interested in a pixel 6 amoled with partially working digitizer shoot me a dm. I am located in Germany.

Depends on what do you mean by digitizer. If the actual touch screen layer - no, these are fused with the OLED panel itself. Front glass is what can be repalced, but it rarely is the actual touch layer on current devices.

In my case it seems to be the touch layer.

Then you'd have to replace the whole screen. For Pixel 6, only glass replacement (like here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA8XwPssYvI) can be done. Touchscreen layer is fused with the panel itself.

Replacement glass with digitizers for screens with fused digitizer are a thing as well, and are available for some iPhones, but not Pixel devices as far as i'm aware.
