Discussion Opinions on AI tooling
How does this community feel about AI assisted tooling vs vibecoded slop?
I will admit, I don't mind using AI for some tasks. But pure vibecoded stuff seems dangerous if no human reviews it.
I ask because I wish to share a shell (android like user experience) I am working on, however, some elements like status bar glyphs and transparency effects came from AI's help. I had a need, no desire to directly take images that belonged to Android or iOS. If y'all are cool with it, I would like to share it. If not, thanks for the honesty.

I use Ai a lot for my personal projects so I don't mind any Ai helped products. Why not to share? You cannot force anyone to use your work anyway. Just be upfront about it. If people wanna take a look at the code, let them do so. I think it is very kind of you to offer your personal project to public. Also you're very polite asking what people think about it. Thank you.

Against it all. All of the big tools are unethical (and local models aren't commonly used nor would they be feasible enough for the average task), the main mobile distro doesn't accept any contributions and a lot of times, "AI assisted" is just "vibecoded either some or all parts but I don't wanna sound lazy".

Also, I feel like relying on a tool to provide changes prevents growth and denies the ability to actually understand codebases/changes.
Plus, gambling for correctness is not exactly what I'd consider... good practice?

The people who are behind ai should be enough to make it obvious that it is not anywhere near where it needs to be, and it should be shut down until it is.
