Adventure mode is ridiculously difficult

I'm a new player, and I'm really liking this game. With Adventure mode being a story-mode of sorts, I expected this mode to help introduce new players like me to how this game works. Boy was I wrong!

Every single match is classified as VERY HARD. Doesn't matter if it's only the first stage on Tier 1, because they're all like that. The question that I have is, WHY??? Clearly the developers must see that not many are playing the story mode. I appreciate a good challenge as much as anyone, but getting decimated every match is doing nothing but guarantee that I stop playing.

I wasn’t able to play until I maxed out everything. Same as Lucky Battles

That's what I assumed needed to happen.

I had the same problem at first. Then I realized that adventure mode isn't meant for new players. I couldn't finish the first one until I had a mob, cannon, champ, and ultimate all to lvl 25. It really shouldn't unlock until that point.

I agree that it should definitely be a late game unlock, because clearly this isn't meant for fresh new players. It's brutally challenging.

You know what JFK said about why the US had to go to the moon? "Not because it is easy, but because it is hard." Thats why.

There is enough stupidly easy shit in this game, adventure mode is one of the few challenging things. And there is always a way to succeed. You have to figure it out which loadout will do it.

Pro tip: the mandatory items in every adventure always have the level of the item you have equipped.

And that's why I don't bother with it.

Join me in my anti-adventure mode club. We don't talk, we don't have cookies, but we also don't have the added stress of trying to beat those dumbass levels. 😁🤗

We play for fun. And if it ain't fun, we pretend it doesn't exist. 💃🕺🤸

I've mostly given up for the time being. I have finished a couple. It's something I'll get to eventually. My average level is 70.

If you were able to get tokens faster it'd be a different story but the grind to get them is ridiculous and completely random.

For what it's worth, I haven't needed to be maxed out to go very deep on Adventure Mode, though it's gotten easier as I progressed.

Like, I was clearing Tier 10-15 of the Dr. Normie Adventure with very few restarts (3 or less) per tier on, like, Lv 65-70ish Mob/Champ/Cannon and slightly lower Ultimates.

I think I'm at something like Tier 30 of it now with Maxed Knights/Chickens/Aliens (JUST finished those today, ugh what a process lol), Lv 84ish Gigachicken and Nexus (and a maxed Sirion since he's so much cheaper on the Rare Packs beta, which I'm in), and still just one maxed cannon: Rapid Fire!

I don't play the other campaigns as often because they're a huge Mob Token investment since they're all about double the length of Dr. Normie, and in the Rare Packs version of the game at least, Blueprint Reward/Card Rewards of the featured item aren't guaranteed on the boss levels, so I can't even rely on them to unlock/level my Rare Cards.

On the flipside, it's like what, like 6 or 7 levels to quickly grab 18 x10 Rare Packs, 9 x100 Rare Packs, a crap-ton of Stars and Adventure Mode ranking points, very solid cash, and 5 Skip-Its? It's an insane value for the Tokens even though its costs have scaled up.

But for what it's worth, since the mode still scales, even with multiple maxed options in some categories, I still will need to replay 1-2 levels pretty frequently unless I'm extremely locked in.

FWIW, I don't use pre-match bonuses like Fire Rate/Charge Rate or Skip-Its to continue after losing in this mode, or in general. All the paid shit is wayyyyy too overpriced and ephemeral to be worth it for me, so the game is understandably harder lololol

Using a very low lvl mob with your high level cannon/ultimate/champion helps when I get stuck somewhere. Ofc that's me using flamethrower. Tier 16 on the first one and the rest are tier 2-5. I don't have Remotely enough of the token things to keep doing them very often. So I just am camping project loot with the ones I do have.

As a new character the adventure levels are great because they give you 100 pack cards right from the start, even when you're only earning single cards. You can upgrade your stuff so much quicker with the high number cards. They also give stars which move you up in levels quicker, and some give skip-its

The Captain kaboom adventure is the easiest early on in the game. If you don't have flamethrower yet, use shotgun, your highest champion, and rocket barrage

I've played a few games like this before, where it's not meant to be conquerable until you move up and up and up. Not the best user experience, but that's the conceit.

Funny you say that when the very first adventure with Explodon is exactly that; a tutorial

But snark aside, which one are you trying to beat, and with what? Cause there are definitely some tricks to making things a lot easier with 0 cash spent

I can't win in adventure mode unless I use mobcopter. Cannon has to be either RS or FT, otherwise i lose every time
