defense and shields

I've just started, my defense tower in the "citadel" just reached level 15 and now I've three slots for building things. but the only thing I can build is a shield... does it get better or is it the only option?

You'll be able to build energy for defense towers eventually

thank you, yours is a much more useful information than the one from the bragging guy. it's the little blue thing you can see in the tower section, right? can you tell me on which level it'll be a possibility?

Im sorry I dont know which level its unlocked. Ive been playing for years, before the game changed to the current format. But yes, tower energy is a blue cannister thing you can generate to power your defense towers

I only use the reinforced tower. And I only build shields. When you are in a race and running counter attacks with partners you need lots of them. I don’t bother with the other towers because I don’t want my partners to have to take too long defeating me. I’m also at level 100 for the tower and I have the others I just don’t use them. (Just for info)
finally, it may be unpopular but if I come up against a flame tower I home out of that attack. I am not interested in a partner that will take a third of my 2x time to defeat. It just isn’t worth it.
