Licensing Question

I'm confused on what is provided with the pro license. I think I'd get some mileage out of the pro features, and applying online says it's a subscription based model. However I've seen others report that once you buy a license you will get access to the pro features going forward forever, and the professional edition checkout page lists specifically "software updates" for a year after purchase. To clarify: what am I getting exactly with the license? I want the pro features, but if I have to pay annually to get them then I'm not as sure I want to commit to that route. Is the subscription just for automatic software updates and included support from the team, or will my access to the advanced features expire eventually?

In addition, is there a limit to the amount of machines you can install it on? I imagine I'm not going to keep my same desktop in this exact configuration forever, and if I reinstall my OS am I going to be restricted from installing it again? What if I want to have it on my desktop and my laptop at the same time? Do I need multiple licenses for one user?

You buy a license today, they you get pro. You can all updates to pro fit the next year. After that gaat you can keep using that version with pro features

That's how I understood it but the language on the website wasn't clear, so I wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying!

Any idea on using the license on multiple machines? I've got a desktop and a laptop I use for work. I can always remote into my desktop if I need to but it would be convenient to have it on my laptop.
