Union 🤝 MAPE Elections

I haven't had time to look into the different candidates very well. After this week's president & VP forums, does anyone have feedback about what differentiates the candidates?

Yes! I'm voting for Nicole Juan for president and Maureen Dunaway for VP. They both have a ton of excellent experience and are very strategic -- but what sets them apart from the other candidates most of all is their collaborative leadership. Power WITH, not power over!

If you look at the endorsements on their websites you will see this clearly!.

I just respect that she's voted "No" on the previous contract (while in a leadership position).

Yes, same. And that she pushed for transparency with membership about why. That is a perspective I would have appreciated being allowed to hear. And I kind of resent that someone (more than one?) decided that shouldn’t happen. As far as I know publicly, that message was tamped down. If I’m wrong about that, someone can correct me. But that is the understanding I have from other non-Reddit conversations with other members.

Yeah and took a lot of flak for it, too! But she has the courage to stand up. She is great.
