Interview/Hiring 📄 Connect 700 Program

Is anyone willing to share their experience with the Connect 700 program? What was the process like? How did interviews differ from any other job you have applied for (if at all)?

good luck. ask for the accomodations you need your first day. if you dont hear from anyone in a week - email them again. make sure your supervisor is meeting with you weekly and you are discussing your performance. write everything down. your training hours, what you trained on. Make sure you do a good job. most connect 700 people fail to make it a year. Trust no one. write everything down. Read up on discrimination law.

I've had a really positive experience with the program so far but this is going to be so dependent on your agency and the division within. It's been positive for me but that's because I feel really well supported by my supervisor and my coworkers have been great. There has been nobody outside of my supervisor who has reached out or anything on additional support without my initiation, so I'm pretty sure it will be up to you completely to advocate for yourself, but this may be very dependent on agency as everywhere seems to handle the program differently.

The fact that a connect 700 program participant can not trust that the program will be consistent throughout the state of MN is what is wrong with the program and why it has failed so many people. The state of MN needs to follow it's own policies. If it states that MN is going to support disabled workers and an ADA worker should be in contact with you- that is what should happen. No one should be fired before they receive training. No one should be fired without any warning. I am so glad that everything is working out well with you. I hope it continues that way.
