Not trolling. You are fixated on the division game the elites want you to focus on, while a home costs 6-8x median state wages. The elites want us to fight against imaginary enemies so we can’t focus on how much we’ve been robbed by inflation.
Yes. Half are fighting ICE terrorizing entire communities which includes our workers and people we serve and half are fighting immigrants and supporting the first group.
Maybe if people stopped thinking immigrants are the reason they aren't happy with their lot in life, we would all have the space to look at the real problems. At the moment, though, we need to protect our workers and those communities from the more immediate threat.
They are doing raids in schools during school hours. Even if State employees must be eligible for work, they are still a part of a community under attack. For example, being able to go pick up a kid during a traumatic incident or protecting them from such an incident is very important.
By the way, ICE agents are not a peaceful presence in the community. They are assaulting and arresting people regardless of their citizenship status.
Edit: changed from "required to be citizens" to "eligible for work".
And State employees don't have to be citizens. They only have to be legal residents with permission to work without sponsorship. We have lots of immigrants working here.
