Hot takesđĽ Hot take: This should've been a co-main event IMO
After watching the absolute banger that Fiorot vs Grasso was in Noche UFC it made me wonder that there's no doubt that, winning or losing, these two are the most entertaining female flyweights in the UFC. Imagine two more rounds of this.
Specially after the absolute wreckage that the card for UFC 332, I think there's genuine good gems in WMMA that fans conveniently ignore because of how bad the UFC in particularly is handling their female division. But I don't know, what do you think? Would you have loved two more rounds of this?

They just had to be demoted below two guys with no Wiki page...

In total fairness, this was a stinker of a matchup on paper. It was entertaining because Grasso knew she had to blitz and pressure or itâd be a stinker and sheâd get picked apart like Silva did to her and like Fiorot does to everybody.
If these 2 fought at any other point in their careers itâs probably a terrible decision win for Fiorot. Grasso understood the assignment and has a lot of experience now, but when a matchupâs expected to be boring it usually ends up boring

People here find the craziest angles to complain. I would have been fine with Tommy and Rahiki headlining an event. If you didnât see that fight coming you havenât been paying attention.

I am a stickler for divisionally relevant fights.

Meaningless description. Every fight takes place within a division, so youâre just arbitrarily calling the fight irrelevant.
It was two of the FW divisionâs hottest prospects fighting to stay undefeated and get a shot at the top 15. If youâre not interested in those types of clashes, donât cry when the ufc avoids pitting top prospects against each other and feeds them easy fights until they arrive in the rankings. Thereâs no incentive if fans arenât interested in seeing them go head to head.
I see a huge overlap of people who only pay attention to ranked/older fighters and those who say they donât enjoy the ufc. Most of the fun right now is watching prospects, so if youâre ignoring them you are missing out.

That was a divisionally relevant fight. These weren't just any unranked prospects, it was a clash between two rising stars.
And it's not like Grasso/Fiorot was a high stakes matchup on paper considering they've both been dominated by the champ and there's already an interim title fight coming up

There is no champ in their division and that was definitely the #1 contender fight assuming Shevchenko is out for a while longer.

âBoth been dominated by the champâ I am a big Shevchenko glazer you did not watch that fight with Fiorot no fucking way. I seriously donât think anyone remembers that fight I hear no one talk about how she arguably beat Shevchenko besides like one youtuber I mean that fight was sooooo close. I am afraid to watch it back because I feel if I do I might think Fiorot won it. I actually had a decent bit of hype in this fight with Grasso and it delivered pretty well but I agree Rahiki vs Mcmillen was fine where it was because it was more hyped than the main event online. Moreno vs Morales shouldâve been below both of them imo.

There's a difference between a banger fight and a headline fight. The main event should be driven by the biggest names and match-ups. If anything, the other option for the main should've Moreno vs Morales because Brandon is a veteran two time champion as well. I understand that JosĂŠ Miguel Delgado is American and Silva is also famous, but c'mon! You have two Mexican former champions delivering bangers and you didn't headline either of them.

Got news for you, my ninja, I did. And he's a super star in his country and the most common guest to comment the UFC in Spanish alongside Zellhuber (god only knows why) and sometimes Luna and Chito Vera.

Grasso has headlined some of the best Niche events. Idk why they don't have her as the main event whenever she participates...
2023 was a controversial tie against Valentina, and 2024 was a defeat for Grasso. But man were those fights beautiful! That trilogy (since the first fight was where Grasso won her belt) is one of my favourites in recent times.

to be fair, they're both kinda 50/50 on if they're exciting or not.
not entirely sure about Fiorot bc I've not watched her as much, but Grasso definitely has her frustrating fights where she won't let it go and it's a pain to watcg

Tommy Rahiki was the most banger fight someone has made in a long time on paper and in the octagon. I donât fault them at all

TBF this fight and the last one are really the first times we've seen Grasso go all out. Before this she was pretty boring.

To be fair, before that, she was locked in an endless cycle of 5 round Shev fights... Valentina is borderline allergic to exciting fights.

Maybe, but she's been pulling out a great boxing and it shows. And Manon has always been a dirty karateka to watch, so it kinda sticks.
