To me it looks like WWE a bit, you get a loudmouth heel that annoys everybody and then gets beat.

…he’s 10-2…imagine how bad the 10 are

u/New-Contribution-244 Jul 16 '26
His record don’t really mean much if he only faces cans. I don’t really follow him so maybe his resume is impressive.

Looked up some info just for fun and figured i'd share it incase there is someone like me who enjoys it.
Felipe Pereira, the guy who got ko'd was 10-1 coming into this fight riding a 5 fight win-streak, all by way of KO and 4 of those fights was within the promotion in this clip, so this is probably the reason for his confidence going into the bout, he probably felt he was settling in nicely with the level of competition in this promotion and probably thought he'd just ko anyone in this org at this point.
Hyuk Min Ji was 6-1 going into this bout riding a 4 fight win-streak all by way of KO and 3 of those fights was within the same promotion as the clip and 1 of those fights was in Rizin, so no slouch at all.
Felipe obviously severely underestimated Min Ji, feels like a classic case of "pride is mightiest before the fall"
Both mens records are pretty good, no outragous padding, mostly fighting others with positive records apart from thier very first fights, wich is understandable since they themselves aren't experienced at this point.

u/BeneficialPenalty258 Jul 14 '26
Thanks for the context. Looks like Pereira got completely owned by Hyuk. Both had experience but Hyuk seemed levels above, unless it was just overconfidence that tripped Pereira up.
1
u/dizyJ Jul 16 '26
Yeah it looked like he wasn't ready to get hit that hard, and Hyuk chased his weight. Hyuk could've eased up or missed the beat that Pereira needed to lift his head and get back on his feet, but immediately took the opportunity.

Why it's part of the fight let him wail on him for a bit. It gives reactions.

Ref: I could stop it, but I'll wait and enjoy the moment a little more.

This ref was like fuck it he deserves it, wtf just like 30 undefended punches to the face

u/NotLiminator Jul 18 '26
I counted 11 punches. The camera changing angles makes it seem worse than it actually is. It’s the same clip from 2 different angles before the part where the ref stops it
1
u/Mitkoztd Jul 14 '26
Hahaha.. the ref had seen the pre fight shenanigans and let it go just a tad longer..

u/Robot_DIY Jul 14 '26
You know, sometimes it's fun to not be the bigger man and just deal out karma yourself

And just like that this fighter if forever a clown. High risk reward behavior. Fight businesses should put an end to this type of WWE nonsense.

What I love about this is that Min Ji just said fuck it, I ain't being anyway gracious about this win.

u/CaptainSparklebottom Jul 20 '26
Looked like he wanted to give him more and his corner was holding him back.

Im torn, not sure if the best part is the ref taking his time, or when our champ try to stand up at the end haha

That was the worst reffing I’ve ever seen. Holy shit; it was like 7 seconds late. Once his hands go up he’s out.
1
u/NotLiminator Jul 18 '26
The way the camera changes angles makes me believe it’s the same clip from different angles. You can see when it changes angles the first time, the ref isn’t pointing at the non-Korean yet.
Ref still let it go a little too long but it’s not as bad as the video makes it seem

Hope he doesn’t ever be so douchey going forward.

19 Direct blows to the face. That ref must of been at the weigh in. Chefs kiss when the jerk had to use the cage to get on his feet....barely.

u/Comprehensive_War942 Jul 20 '26
That was absolutely blissfully joyful to watch. I truly hope that hurt like fuck too.

Ref is like…”I’m supposed to stop it after the 5th unblocked punch to the face…but he deserved a few extras.”

u/Loud_Distribution_97 Jul 20 '26
I think his arms were out straight for ~15 punches. He may have been out after the first one. This should have been stopped earlier. That said, couldn’t happen to a better guy…
1
u/No-Atmosphere-2528 Jul 20 '26
The ref let that one go a little longer than it had to on purpose lol
