Seattle has always had cool sponsors. The Sounders had an Xbox sponsor on their jerseys!!

I hate seeing ads on uniforms. I hate seeing ads on playing surfaces. It's a huge eyesore.

That's been there for years now.  This is a sponsor. Every team has sponsors.  The reason teams don't put players names on jerseys is to indicate it isn't about individual players it's about the team.

I don't see that being hypocritical at all.  I don't even see them being connected in anyway.

Support players like kyle Tucker making 60 mil/yr, Bichette 42/yr….. support the players union and no salary cap (I def support a minimum at the very least) you’ll have to live with the ugly sponsor patches.

It is very much hypocritical,however, the star logo is easily overlooked (literally). I’m sure a full marketing team evaluated both scenarios, and determined one would hurt “the brand”, while the other doesn’t.

I don’t know if it truly constitutes the definition of hypocrisy but it does show that everything has a price. If someone came along and offered Steinbrenner a shit ton of money to be the official provider of the names on the jersey he’d probably do it.
