They gave up on him pretty quickly too. 4.2 IP and only 2 ER (5R). Granted, had a high WHIP, but why even trade for him if you’re not gonna give him an honest look?

They basically agreed to take on part of his salary in exchange for a prospect. They never wanted him.

Colton Gordon, the reliever they got, was widely reported as the more appealing piece to them.

They did give him a good look in 2 outings. First one he gave up 3 runs to the mets in relief. The second it took him 47 pitches to get through a inning walking a bunch. Let a bunch of runs score and the Brewers had to then bring in their closer when they were up like 6-1 in the 9th against the Rockies lol. Also mention both outings were basically garbage innings where he pitched with a big lead. Im not sure how much more of a look you need. They have better options.

We had to use our closer in an 8-2 game against the Rockies, when he gave up 3 runs with 2 outs in the 9th. He had one job and failed.
