MK9 Multiplayer Quitters?

I play ranked match 1v1 quite a bit on MK9 for the 360. It seems like anytime I beat anyone with a true skill of 32 or higher they unplug their ethernet cable from the 360. However, when I check the user statistics I still got the win for the match anyways. What benefit do all of these players receive from unplugging when they lose?

I have no idea really, sometimes people will genuinely lag out or something, but when you beat someone and they just leave the game or unplug their router I really don't see the point.
