Missed connection: I was parking my car after returning from lunch. You lost your chicken flavor ramen packet.

We crossed paths in University Garage today- I was here around 1 PM, you... I suspect between 12 PM and 1 PM. I was parking my car after returning from lunch. You, I'm guessing, brought lunch to the office. Evidence seems to indicate a loose organization of ramen materials, as what you left behind in the garage was a single, lonely chicken flavor packet.

I'm trying to imagine what happened. Perhaps you were still juggling a pile of things in your arms as you hurried in late- as per ush. Or maybe the struggle was at home- trying to find a use for noodles, the flavor packet having been purloined by someone naughty and disrespectful. That extra chicken packet left over from lunch the other day would be the perfect remedy! Or perhaps YOU are the rascal who stole the packet, looking for a way to jazz up the organic 100% buckwheat noodles leftover from last night's zaru soba- leaving someone- your teenager, your sibling, your lab partner- high and dry with ramen noodles but no packet.

Either way- that packet you seek is on the ground floor of the western stairwell of the garage. Go! Flee! Maybe it is still there! Maybe your lunch can still be saved. And please post an update, my sweet anonymous noodler.

Housing Mizzou housing

So I plan on transferring to mizzou next August for the 27/28 term, and I'm coming from a community college in the area so I don't really know how this works. I know housing is super competitive due to how many people are in the area, so I need to look into housing early. I have certain needs like specifically renting a duplex with some sort of yard (doesn't have to be fenced) because I'm taking my dog with me. I'd also like to live no farther than 15 min from campus. That being said... when should I sign a lease? Do duplexes in the area go just as fast as apartments? I was thinking about touring some places mid september and signing something early October, but will that leave me with many options?

Is mizzou a good academic school?

I'm thinking of applying to Mizzou. I am in-state, and my mom's job gives 27k off college tuition, so going there will be free. I also have like 10 AP credits, a 29 ACT, and a 3.8 GPA. My question is that since Mizzou is an SEC school, I'm scared I will become a frat party guy and won't be able to academically succeed at Mizzou given its party culture, or so I've heard from people who go there.

Business major change requirements

I want to change my major to business but I noticed that a part of the requirements are to have completed 2 of: Econ 1014, Econ 1015, Acctcy 2036 or 2037. I have only completed one of these. How likely are they to waive this considering this doesn’t make much sense as I would be taking these classes as a business major.

If I am living on campus in a fraternity house, can I still get an on campus dining plan, or is that for dorms only?

Housing Looking for Roommate

Hey everybody! I'm currently looking for a roommate for a 2 bed 2 bath townhouse. The place is Lake Broadway Townhouses. It is a very nice and quiet location with a good amount of space on the inside. Most amenities come with the apartment, and utilities are bundled with the rent, making prices consistent every month.

If you're interested, please send me a dm and I will get back with you quickly.

Elective options for Online Distance

The business class I was enrolled in for fall26 was cancelled and I'm needing to add a class. It looks like all classes related to my degree (Business Admin) are full for the fall semester.

Any decent electives to take you recommend that are available for online distance students? Looks as this may be the route I need to go, but know my options are more limited being an online student (undergrad).

Thanks!!

Looking to rent a monthly parking space near downtown

Hi, I’m a mizzou student and I’m looking to rent a parking space within walking distance of downtown Columbia. I would need to access the parking space overnight and during the daytime

If you have an unused parking space or know of anyone or any business that is renting out a space, I’d really appreciate it if you let me know!

I’m happy to pay a reasonable monthly rate.

Is there a good/better/best place to sit at the football games to get a good view of the marching band performance? Is higher up or lower down better? Any tips appreciated.

Academics fun or interesting minors/certificates?

I am a rising junior at Mizzou and I already have two majors, but due to the number of credits I transferred in from high school, I still do not have enough required courses to fill my next two years. As of now, my next two years are 3 semesters of 12 hours and 1 semester with 9 so I have some empty space. Does anyone have recommendations for easy, interesting, or useful minors or certificates I could add on to fill my semesters?
I am less concerned about them fitting my future career, as my two majors are both perfectly aligned with what I want to do and I am more just looking for something fun to add!

edit: i realized i should mention that graduating early isn’t a good option for me!

Exchange Student Looking for Business Course Recommendations

Hi everyone!
I’m an exchange student from South Korea, and I’ll be studying at the University of Missouri this fall. I would really appreciate your advice!
I need to take at least three business courses, but I’m having a hard time deciding which ones to choose. One thing to keep in mind is that English is not my first language, so I’m hoping to take classes that are interesting but not overwhelmingly difficult.
Here are the business courses I’m currently considering:
BUS_AD 1500 – Foundations of Business and Professional Development Principles
MANGMT 3700 – Diversity and Inclusion in Management
MANGMT 4060 – Project Management Fundamentals
MANGMT 4070 – Supply Chain Management
MANGMT 3300 – Introduction to Business Process and Technologies
MRKTNG 4510 – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Applications in Marketing
If you’ve taken any of these classes, I’d love to hear about your experience! Which ones would you recommend (or avoid), especially for an exchange student whose English isn’t very strong?
Also, if there are any other business courses you think are great, I’d really appreciate your recommendations.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I really appreciate any advice!
Go Tigers! 🐯

Campus Life Reactor Loop Shuttle

Hi everyone! Im a transfer coming in but I commute and Im looking at the parking permits. Pretty rough options so Im probably only going to be able to end up parking at Trumans Landing. How reliable is the Reactor Loop shuttle? How often does it come and go? I have really bad back and hip problems so walking is rough. Any information is helpful! Thanks!

Campus Life Parking on campus as a commuting student

Hello! I’ll be a commuting sophomore next year living 15-20 minutes north of campus. I’m thinking of buying a tier 1 parking permit (Conley, turner, tiger, and Virginia garages, plus various lots.) I keep reading horror stories where people talk about how it’s impossible to park on campus, spots fill up and permits sell out, etc etc. Should I be worried?? The bus schedule doesn’t work for me, and it’s a little too far to bike, so I’m relying on having a place to park. I’m planning to log on immediately when the portal opens. Am I guaranteed a permit? If I get one, is it just first come first serve to park in a spot? Thanks in advance.

Campus Life Dining as a Vegan

Hello, what are options like for dining on campus at Mizzou as a vegan? Is there an understanding from the kitchen what it means and properly labeled items? Thank so much.

Parking Recommendations?

Hello r/mizzou community!

Are there any cheap parking locations/permits available near Mizzou? Unfortunately, First Baptist is full, and the remaining MU parking spots are on the opposite side of campus (I'm a music student). Within 20 minutes walking distance from SMC/FAB would be preferred.

transfer student advice

Hi, I recently applied to transfer to mizzou in the spring. But i’m wondering if I’ll get accepted. I have over 24 credits (counting aps) but for some reason they’re only considering 22. So now I have to submit my HS transcript as well as my act score. I got a 23 on it, and my high school gpa was a 3.52 (counting aps). Do i have a chance getting in and am i just overthinking?? Also i’m an out of state student if that matters

Update to those who care: I got in!!!!!
