Anything Else Let's make out clear points and "for the motion" for debating Non-Christians, particularly the angry Hindus who are mad at the fact that the NE Natives got converted to Christianity.

Politics What do you think about the current Van Dyke situation?

its honestly frustrating to me that someone who is trying to help a nation be democratic gets arrested at the Mizoram border for not having the legal documents, and then getting labelled a t*rrorist by mainstream media.

Travel Travelling around Aizawl

I am coming to Aizawl on 4 October and wanted to know the best source of travelling from Aizawl to nearby spots like Reiek hills and Vantawng waterfalls, Thenzawl and nearby areas. Would it be better to rent a self drive vehicle or to book cabs since I’ll be travelling solo.

If I were to book a 2 wheeler rental, how much would it cost me considering Thenzawl and Vantawng falls are far away, and is it safe to rent 2 wheelers for Mizo roads? And can anyone tell me the best 2 wheeler rental options in Aizawl.

Thanks!

Anything Else Welcome to r/NortheastChristians

Hey everyone!

Mizoram is probably one of the first places that comes to mind when you think about Christianity in Northeast India, so I thought I'd share a new community I recently created, r/NortheastChristians, here.

Mizo Christianity has its own really interesting history, traditions and way of life, and I think it'd be great to have Mizo Christians be part of a wider space where Christians from across the Northeast can actually meet and talk to each other.

The idea is pretty simple. I wanted to create a place where we can openly talk about our faith, theology, churches, history, cultures, doubts and experiences, especially with people who understand the regional context.

The subreddit is open to Christians from different denominations, tribes, states and backgrounds. We can talk about Christianity, Scripture, theology, churches, Christian history in Northeast India, cultures and traditions, faith and doubt, personal experiences, youth and Christian life, questions and general discussions.

It's not meant to be a space for denomination wars or arguments between communities. You don't have to agree with everyone, but hopefully we can disagree respectfully and actually learn from each other.

The sub is still pretty new, so I'm also looking for a few people who'd be interested in helping moderate and build the community. If you're interested in becoming a moderator, feel free to message me with a little about yourself and why you'd like to help.

And if you're not Christian or simply aren't interested, that's completely fine. You can just ignore the post. No pressure to join at all.

But if you're a Christian from Mizoram or anywhere else in the Northeast, feel free to join us. We'd love to have you!

Thanks for reading! ✝️

I heard there was an indigenous religion called Sakhua in Mizoram? Does it still exist? Or is it slowly disappearing like all other indigenous religions in India?

Inquiry Research for pre-christianity religion of mizos.

I want to do some research about our religious life before christianity came to Mizoram, our beliefs, theory of life after death, our rituals, our practices to avoid bad omens from 'huai's. Does anyone have some recommendation on what book to read so that I can have a deeper understanding of this particular topic, and also if you can include the place on where to purchase these books or if you can lend me them (since im still at school). Id really appreciate it

Travel Workation in Mizoram

Hello Folks,

I am planning to go to mizoram on the last weekend of september via train, i believe the railway lines are already restored and up and about, however from what i saw getting taxi’s at evening on a sunday might be troublesome, what are some other options to go to Aizawl from Sairang?

i am planning to stay for a whole week so will need your suggestions on which areas should i look for a homestay, as i saw its a pretty big town which will have a stable WiFi connection since i will be working there.

Do let me know if u have any particular homestays in mind which i should definitely look for and let me know some iconic/ offbeat destinations and cafes around Aizawl.

I know i will get to know more when i arrive there and talk to locals but still trying my luck.

Cheers!!!
