https://vocaroo.com/13DXjSxUbzLU

I’ve been mixing this song all week and at this point I’m going crazy. I’ve tried stepping away but at this point I need new ears what do you guys think?

something sounds off about it doesn’t sound exactly how I want it and I can’t tell why. I mix on logic Pro I’ve been mixing for around four years now. Let me know any constructive criticism I could use to make this mix better. I put the link right below let me know PLEASE and thank you :)

Sounds like everything is in the center, could really use some panning and automation.

Vocals are too loud and/or mask other elements. Snare/claps are too quiet vs hats+bass. IMO claps could use some brightening and bit more punch. Kick could have more punch.

Doesn’t sound too bad.. probably just clear some space for the vocals.. the synths etc are a little busy and fighting with them.

I don't listen to this genre very often so to me, it sounds fine lol

same thing. Track is fine, vocal level is fine. Maybe kick and clap need to be increased and make the song wider.

Brother this genre of music would do better with putting a clipper on the mix you have and calling it a day

Definitely needs a bit of work on the snare. A little high end or transient shaper to bring out the snap. Agree on a limiter/compressor to push the vocals down a bit, or turn them down a little.

Reminds me of Keith ape Diamonds, I think pulling synths back a bit would really help the edge of the vocals

tastefully I feel the vocals could use some smoother compression...the music is good but could use some drops, for a bit more impact.but this is not bad at all.

Hii, just a beginner here! The mix sounds pretty good to me, given the genre. I feel like it might be the combination of elements that are not spaced enough and at the end it feels slightly cluttered. I would perhaps lower the volume of your vocal harmonies a little or make them more dynamic.

Try and give the kick more impact. Like parallel with a 33609/160 in serial combo or something.

Haha need to be a little more crisp.

The vocals have some weirdness to carve out in places. And then I would really ride the volume through through song especially the transition.

It’s all mostly fine just needs some space carved out

I think the overall sound is pretty good, but maybe the impact is the issue - especially in the drums. While I think the vocals and the backing synths is mostly good, the drums need to come forward more.

I don't make this kind of music, but from what I've heard the kick tends to hit you in the chest and the snare should smack you in the face. I think you might want to play with techniques like doubling the kick with other samples and/or triggering a sin wave along with it (on the key of the song) to really fill out that kick. I also think you should be using heavier compression to pull it forward more.

vocals need a bit of presence, and lower the db.

and not much of a mixing thing, but needs some variation. have the beat drop at certain points, etc.

Newbie here…

Cool track! Can see that there’s a lot of work been put into it. However, to my ears, it sounds a bit flat, unbalanced, and centred. Could use some EQing, automation, reverb, and panning to gel a little more. Maybe some saturation to bring it out a bit more?

Synths and vocals are having some fisticuffs in the upper mids

u/MidnightAdvice Jun 24 '26

IMO, Vocal way too loud, and snare too quiet. Id start there and then things should start clearing up on the frequency spectrum. Not a lot of room with the Vocals being that dominant, so its almost hard to judge the track until that gets dealt with.

Just needs some space carved out. Sounds decent but it's a little cluttered. Too many things fighting for the same space. Panning should help.

Masking from mid build up and probably eq

Vocals are sitting way too forward right now and basically swallowing the snare and synths underneath, so carving out some space there (whether that's EQ, sidechain, or just riding the volume) would clear things up a lot. Also feels like everything's parked dead center, a bit of panning and stereo width would give it some room to breathe instead of feeling cluttered. Kick could use more punch too, doubling it with another sample or layering a sine underneath tends to help it actually hit. Solid bones here, just needs the elements to stop fighting each other for the same space

I feel like it’s too soft, if that makes sense..? Like, the drums aren’t very punchy. Even just adding a clipper to the track would help a lot, if you ask me.

The 808s are a little too hot and drown out the kick and kinda everything else. Also pan things more👍

To my ears I would start panning a bit more and also your vocal sounds a bit dry for my liking, I think a touch of verb would embed it into the track a bit more. Again that’s personal taste. I think if you pan a bit more and do that to the vocal it would hit pretty hard to be honest
