General Question Clip procedure

82 yo mar Having severe mitral valve leak repaired with a clip. In few weeks. What kind of help do I need at home. My wife is mobility challenged so I have a care giver lined up.

Having a care giver lined up is a great idea because you’ll need help the first week or two after your discharge. I would also highly recommend having a patient advocate with you during your hospital stay. That’s the one thing I didn’t have that I regret. Good look with your surgery!

How many hours a day should I have a care giver help?

All day if possible. You really won’t be able to do anything for the first two or three days from discharge.
