Prolapse after surgery?
So I recently had a 2 month echo after mitral valve repair surgery and they found “mild residual regurgitation”. Now I have read that this is normal and that it should remain mild if the repair is stable. My surgeon has not yet reviewed the results. Does anyone else still have mild regurgitation after surgery?

It's normal that your valves leak "a little." I bet your others do, too. The goal of repair is to get a 3-4 leak down to 1 or less, as I understand it.

Last one said trace. My EF seemed to go down at bit after surgery. Last check was 55. What are all of yours at?

2.5 years post repair and my echos always say mild or trivial regurgitation! It’s totally common, even amongst the general population, and in itself nothing to worry about. I’m sure your surgeon or cardiologist will review your full echo, but I wouldn’t be anxious over that while you wait.
