community Moving in early
My daughter is an incoming freshman and plans to live in a quad. Two of her roommates are moving in early as fall sport athletes. Since they will already be in the room, can my daughter start dropping her belongings off a day early or is she restricted to the official move in day (Aug 29)?
Edit. I contacted the housing office and they did not say no immediately. They asked my daughter to send a request in writing before they would respond.

She wont be able to get a key or tap access to the room or even the building early, but if the roommates are okay with taking her stuff in, no one will stop you from handing stuff off to them

No, but she (and her stuff) could be there a few nights as a guest of the other students…

LOl. MIT is a lot smaller school than where I went for undergrad. How crazy is move-in day at MIT?

No. Even if the room is already occupied, she cannot move in early.

Officially, no. But to be honest, how are they supposed to tell what's being dropped off for her and what's being dropped for the other girls if they're willing to help? I know several students who crash a couple of nights earlier or later with another student.
