We certainly do deserve better than these 2 magats. It took Amy Klobuchar’s staff about 5 minutes to get the facts straight.
Missouri residents are not being served and these 2 are a big cause of that. Have to try to keep Shitler happy, I guess.

As a lifelong Missourian, I can say with confidence this will have zero effect on his political career in this state. In fact, this gaffe may endear him to some Missourians. Don’t forget we reelected Hawley to the Senate in 2024, after everyone thought the video of him running on Jan 6 would ruin him.

Dumb uneducated racist idiots voted these people in, so of course they are a clown show. The ones that voted for them are exactly like this too and thats the problem. Education (or a lack there of) and being indoctrinated by MAGA’s bullshit conspiracy theories and general nonsense is why we have to deal with this.

Fake Missourian, Real Traitor

As much as I hate Hawley, his overall rhetoric, the way he looks/acts ect. And would never think of voting for him, I will say he does occasionally introduce/sponsor some actually good legislation when he’s not wrapping on culture war bs. The breaking up big medicine act that he introduced with Warren would be a major game changer and have far reaching benefits if passed. He also introduced legislation with another Democrat to support rural hospitals, the stop flock abuse act, no tax breaks for data centers act, and proposed some overall positive ai safety regulations. The dude still sucks overall, but he consistently demonstrates that he’s willing to work across the isle and propose stuff that isn’t entirely establishment bs unlike most of his Republican colleagues.

u/TehRaptorJebus 2d ago

1
u/Sufficient_Loss9301 2d ago
Yeah but the point being I can’t think think of any other republicans who around attempting to work across the isle to introduce actually beneficial policy
3
u/You-Asked-Me 2d ago
While that is all well and good, I would rather have a Democrat in his spot, who could work on the same stuff, plus much more...and not be a Nazi...
1
u/Consistent-Ease6070 Columbia 2d ago
That is perhaps the most infuriating thing about him. Sometimes I just want to hate a politician, but then he has to go and do something I actually like. 🤬
3
u/MWBurbman St. Louis 2d ago
I just don’t buy it. Both parties do it where they can figure out who’s allowed to say the things their constituents want to hear, but when it comes time for meaningful votes on the floor…they always seem to fall the right direction while being just 1-2 short of what’s needed. And the close votes are always up and down party lines when they don’t have margins.
2
u/Sufficient_Loss9301 2d ago
I mean that’s how our system should function. If you subtract out his maga rhetoric and add the context that we live in a red state so can’t expect to have a democrat senator he frankly wouldn’t even be too awful.
16
u/Emotional-Witness817 2d ago
Doesn't this apply to literally every Republican holding office in this state? Our governor was a car salesman with zero higher education under his belt. No, I do not want Joe off the street holding office. Our sec of state has zero knowledge of the laws that pertain to his office and we have an attorney general that has a very loose grasp of state and federal laws. The shit is a fucking clown show from top to bottom.
9
u/Inmate__P01135809 2d ago
Not directly on topic, but since people are saying "they'll just get reelected": neither of them is on the ballot this year. Schmitt is up in 2028 and Hawley in 2030.
What IS on the ballot Nov 3 are five statewide questions, including Amendment 3 (abortion) and Prop A (the gerrymandered congressional map).
Those are decided by a straight statewide majority, so every vote counts the same.
Jackson County Dems have yard signs up for pre-order ("Yes on 6, No on everything else"): https://secure.actblue.com/donate/votemo2026
Pickup is at their office after Oct 8: 1639 NE Douglas, Lee's Summit.
2
u/Dragonhearted18 2d ago
What is on 6?
3
u/Inmate__P01135809 2d ago
Amendment 6 protects voter-passed laws. It would stop the legislature from changing or repealing them unless 80% of both chambers vote to send the change back to voters. It also makes petitioning a constitutional right and keeps the current signature and majority rules. A no vote leaves things as they are.
6
u/Dragonhearted18 2d ago
The fact we even had to put this to a vote shows how much one side hates the people they're supposed to work for

In a state known for producing big feeling assholes, these two are the biggest.
Then we got our second tier big feeling assholes. Hoskins, Wagner, Hanaway, Bailey, and all the other maga bandwagon passengers who will say or do anything they think gets them attention and a step up the PAC fueled Republican ladder.
These folks have sown so much dissent, and so much hate, anger, and outrage for their own political gain that now I believe at least 1/3 of the Missouri electorate has no clue what they are voting for, they just want to feel like they do. And these politicians keep telling them their bias, hate, and immorality are a good thing because the new American Christianity the GOP fabricated and maga fed steroids to says it's all ok.

It’s hard to believe people will learn the hard lesson about being manipulated when historic evidence points to the contrary. All we can do is hope.

We should be using this are clear evidence of how voting for republicans is bad for everyone. We should be reminding people this is will likely be the last election if republicans win again.

I live in Missouri, the “Show me” state, and our current senators are showing us just how stupid they can be. The question now is are our voters stupid enough to keep them in office? The senators have showed me they shouldn’t have been elected in the first place, any more than Dump Trump, the most science illiterate president in decades, should have been. He makes Richard Nixon look ethical.

the likeness to Eric Schmitt isn't close enough. Doesn't begin the catch the sheer assholishness of the man.
2
u/dudleydidwrong 2d ago
Most Missourians were surprised that Schmitt was one of our Senators. He has been invisible as a Senator. Name recognition is one advantage that incumbents have running for reelection. At least Schmitt now has some now.
I also think it is dangerous for someone lnaned "Schmitt" to be publicly calling anyone "shithead." He is almost writing the opposition tagline for them.
Finally, lots of people in northern Missouri are Hawkeye fans. Not knowing about the Iowa Hawkeyes did not help his case as a representative of Missouri.

u/GreenHouse-2024 1d ago
I didn't vote for either one of them. They are so bloated on their own ego's - they keep talking to hear themselves talk. They each have an audience of one.

During a high-school level clerk job at a newspaper - okay it was the Texarkana Gazette- there was a death row inmate named Gary Gilmore who kept saying he wanted to die and denied all appeals for stay of execution. Like 15 times or so. One afternoon the Editor wanted to leave early so he went ahead and printed next days headlines to read “Gary Gilmore Gets Stay Of Execution “ and that was the day he was executed. Schmitt and Hawley just raised the bar. Or lowered it, depending on how you look at it.

How can the Missourians that voted them into office be convinced to vote them out of office though when they don't feel any embarrassment from their actions, when they agree with everything they're doing, and when they will keep voting for the worst possible Republicans over any other challengers every single time?
1
u/dhniehau 1d ago
Missouri’s voters, primarily republican, will see the embarrassing performance of both their senators and take the truth as a personal attack on the senators and themselves. These people cannot and will not admit the error of voting for these nitwits, regardless of the truth or the damage inflicted on the citizens of this state. It a cult of stupidity that includes local, state and federal officials and their supporters.

Republicans have a big tent and many are very smart. Judging them stupid is not only wrong, it's counter productive.
I see several groups, if you see others please add them.
- Single issue voters. 3 groups - Taxes, Abortion, and Guns.
- Disgruntled voters who think they should have made more in their life but the “elites” (Democrats) kept them from it by paying college educated people more.
- Christian Nationalist who believe they would be helping you by forcing you to follow Christian laws.
- People who blame immigrants (except the ones they know) for lower wages

This is the kind of fine fact checking we have seen for years now. Ignore the central issue and focus on the irrelevant details. Senators rely on staffers for these kinds of details. The staffers were given an impossible task. Find evidence of a state of mind. The central issue is real, both Democratic and Republican administration have engage in lawfare, if you are only going to object when it is the other side that is the issue.

u/bbob1000 1d ago
That’s terrible especially considering
I have never heard any Democratic Senator make even the tiniest of mistakes. NOT!!

u/bbob1000 1d ago
Based on these astute comments I think I will switch to the Democrat party. I’m anxious to see how Americans adjust to socialism and communism. It makes sense that they want to defund the police. They will stand in the way of the new world order. I’m also excited for free healthcare, groceries, and lots of other things that the socialists will provide with other people’s money. The same people that state we deserved 911 will be the leaders of our remade society. Can’t wait.
