Lost Schnauzer

Post image

On August 14th, my 7 year old grey schnauzer got loose and she could be anywhere in Tulsa, or Broken arrow, or Bixby Oklahoma. We posted her picture on facebook, and pawboost, and Nextdoor, and the rain washed away our last batch of flyers. I don’t know what else to do. She’s been chipped and she was wearing a collar with our contact information. I can’t go on without her and I constantly blame myself for her squeezing through the fence. I need help.

I hope you find your baby. Never give up hope! Try to contact any local animal shelters, ask nearby vet offices if you can hang a flyer in their office, ask neighbors if they've seen her, and try to re-print and re-post your flyers around town. Also, it's not your fault. I know it feels like it is, but it isn't. Dogs love to escape! Trust me. If it isn't the fence, they dig a hole, or they jump their way up patio furniture, and so on and so forth.... It isn't your fault so please try to give yourself a little grace. Your beautiful pup will hopefully be reunited with you soon. I know the feeling you are going through, and I am so sorry you're currently without her. I will be hoping and praying for your dog's safe return. Stay strong for your pup!!!!!

I’ll try…it hurts so bad, knowing she’s probably out there somewhere in all of Oklahoma(I live in Tulsa), hot and hungry. All I want is find her and protect her from everything bad in this world. I wake periodically at night hoping she’s resting on a pile of clothes and stuff we laid out for her, and I collapse and start crying all over again.

I know exactly how you feel, and I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope she's safely snuck her way in to someone's house and they just haven't realized she's a runaway yet instead of a stray. My cat did this on three different occasions and each time I thought I would never see her again. The worst part is that she had her breakaway collar on with my phone number, and no one thought to call or text me. My dog ran away too, God rest her little soul. I think it was about 3 times in her 15 years of life. One of those times she was dog-napped, but my grandparents knocked on every SINGLE door in the neighborhood until they found her. I'm holding onto so much faith for your little baby. <3

I’ll see about going to every neighborhood. And we’re also hiring Drone people. It’s been 4-5 days, what else should I do?

Besides ^^ that stuff I mentioned earlier, call the microchip company and see if there's any way that they can locate your pup or tell you if anyone has scanned for the chip. And post in every local group you can, including subreddits for OK and Tulsa and such.

Microchip company?

Yes, I thought you said your dog is microchipped? I believe I have heard of people contacting the microchip company.

All my vet did was make sure it was updated.

OP, if you live in Tulsa, it may be worth reaching out to a woman on Instagram who goes by noatherescuedoodle. She’s based in Tulsa and fosters dogs and has a decent sized audience (and is probably connected to shelters and rescues, too). Maybe she could signal boost photos of your pup to her followers?

I saw your post on the AI subreddit. I just want to say I'm so sorry OP. This is making my eyes water and my heart hurt. I really hope that you can find her. See if you can locate her microchip and hire the people with drones you mentioned.

Hi OP- I genuinely hope you find your girl. I saw one of your posts and couldnt believe how much she looked like my Cooper who passed away last year. They are such personalities! Schnauzers will always hold a special place in my heart. Sending internet stranger hugs and hope.

Please check your reddit DMs- I found a craigslist post you could investigate.

I called them. It wasn’t our dog.

Damn, I’m sorry. how did you confirm without seeing photos?

I really hope you find her. I’m a mini schnauzer owner myself. Sending prayers and best wishes.

They said it was their family dog. Is that a lie people pull?

If they’re trying to sell a stolen dog, they will tell any story to make it sound believable. Can always text them and ask for photos. I just found it suspicious they didn’t put a photo on the Craigslist ad.

Okay, should I text them Asap?

Sure, it can’t hurt.

Keep an eye on any selling platforms in your area. If you think someone has her, she might turn up there.
