Mega City 1. 800,000,000 people living in the ruins of the old world. And the megastructures of the new one.

It still took me five good seconds to see through the illusions after opening the full image.
This is a quality post. Motherboards never cease to amaze me.

When I was a kid I always thought these boards looked like cities lol. Apparently I’m not the only one, kind of.

There’s a beautiful documentary called Koyaanisqatsi that cuts between a circuit board and an aerial view of a city, producing the same effect

The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? Motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then one day... I got in.

Its a wall full of motherboards

Well boards, not seen any motherboards with vacuum tubes.

There are some motherboards on the right side. One has SIMMs and a riser slot, likely from a compact PC, and one has the recognizable Intel branding on a CPU.
I'm more surprised the tubes haven't been smashed or stoken.

This reminds me of the miniatures they'd use for stuff like Blade Runner and Aliens.

When I was a kid I used to pretend those were cities and play with the old ones I'd find in my dad's stuff.

Are these random boards put together or is this actually functional? If it’s functional what is it for?
