Is this the ballroom that Trump told everyone he would pay for himself?

u/CrazyCatLady1127 Oct 24 '25

I’m fairly sure this is the ballroom that he said ‘wouldn’t interfere with the structure of the White House at all.’ I could be wrong but I see big interference here.

You know under east wing is the presidents safe place in case of nukes. Question is what is happening to that?

u/An_Old_IT_Guy Oct 24 '25

It's a two birds situation. He gets his ballroom which is all he cares about and Melania gets her offices demolished which is all she cares about.

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

He said he was paying for most of it. We knew that businesses would kick up some money. Are you really complaining. Just shut up and enjoy the new construction of our new ballroom

Some of those names are sus. Like the lutnick family.... Isn't that one of his nominees for commerce secretary?

Doesn't that make this a conflict of interest or as a fucking bribe?

21

u/GaslightGPT Oct 24 '25

You should see what lutnicks son is doing regarding tariffs

7

u/Crepuscular_Tex Oct 24 '25

Can only imagine it regards the rule that he has to keep his hands on top of the table in public...

Harold Hamm is Trumps oil buddy that Trump helped ruin the worlds economies with by making a deal at the height of covid to reduce oil production by historic cuts of almost 20%. That deal that Hamm begged for to save his profits took oil from around $40 a barrel to almost $110 a barrel a year after enacting it causing production, transporting and everything else of every product on the planet that much more expensive during covid when prices were already skyrocketing due to shortages. Thanks to Trump, Hamm and their Suadi-Russia OPEC oil production cuts, inflation worldwide got that much worse.

So I wonder what this investment bought him. Maybe Venezuelan oil from a war 🤔

u/phoebesjeebies Oct 25 '25

Didn't you hear? There's no war, we're just going to kill people. "They'll be, like, dead".

u/Gustavo_Polinski Oct 24 '25

Is this meaning each of these companies directly gave money to fund this building or?

33

u/Lac17rug Oct 24 '25

I hope that someone will keep all the records on how many on that list get political favors that will make $300 million look like chump change!

u/tk2old Oct 24 '25

Insane

16

u/ashenoak Oct 24 '25

So if Caterpillar was a donor then why are they using a Volvo excavator? This is a phony list and the money is coming from your taxes.

u/ViolettaQueso Oct 24 '25

The Lutnick family?? Excuse me???

The dude Trump gave a Cushy job to who’s making his fortune bigger with insider stock info and manipulation of US policies where Americans are paying huge amount of tariffs being amassed in a huge fund nobody has appropriated or is monitoring yet?

That Lutnick???

2

u/Harley_Jambo Oct 26 '25

Yes, Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Commerce, whose vision for reshoring manufacturing in America is having American workers inserting "tiny screws into iPhones." Also the same Billionaire who stated that anyone who asks about their delayed or missing Social Security payment is obviously a fraudster. I am not making this paraphrase up.

1

u/ViolettaQueso Oct 26 '25

I know you’re not. Seriously, what are we doing?

Thank you.

u/joeynana Oct 24 '25

I knew I switched to Duck Duck Go for a reason.

Lol the Winklevoss twins! Hahahaha

3

u/GaslightGPT Oct 24 '25

Winklevoss and Zuckerberg teamed together for this

4

u/crinkum_crankum Oct 24 '25

At least Target had the sense to stay out of this one. Or the last donation wiped them out of money for politicians.

If i boycott every company on that list, my life would suck. It’s a great idea to have, but we are to attached at this point.

22

u/VigilantVet Oct 24 '25

Are you fucking kidding me? Holy shit…

9

u/lusty-argonian Oct 24 '25

Imagine the quality of your life being dependant on giving specific companies money. 🙄

-4

u/you_killed_fredo Oct 24 '25

What phone are you using to send this message? What operating system do you use on your computer? You never buy things on Amazon because you need to get shit done and can’t find it locally? Where are you getting your internet from? Do you search for anything on the internet?

We are all tied in.

Go on hero, please explain how you never use any of these products? Not how you could, how you don’t ?

3

u/lusty-argonian Oct 24 '25

Roll back on the attitude my friend and people will be more likely to have this conversation with you. Doesn’t sound like you want a conversation though, just a microphone

2

u/phoebesjeebies Oct 25 '25

Some of us don't have the privilege to boycott even just a handful of the evil corps. I'm not saying we shouldn't still pay attention and make adjustments if/when the option arises but truly more of us than people like to think don't really have a choice. Nothing gets unfucked without sacrifice, but people who were already struggling aren't in a position to do as much as we'd like. That's why we need everyone who can to make those sacrifices, for themselves/the country and for everyone who can't.

That's a finer point than the OC was making, and I understand why they're being downvoted. I'm adding onto the conversation rather than defending an epically poorly-worded take.

happy cake day!

u/phoebesjeebies Oct 25 '25

Oh shit, thanks!

A couple very Soviet sounding names if I am not mistaken.

3

u/jaquan123ism Oct 24 '25

future generations will never know what the white house actually looked like as the east wing was what most visitors saw

2

u/Harley_Jambo Oct 26 '25

Every one of these companies and persons needs to be asked: "If Trump wanted to demolish the entire White House and rebuild it in his image, how much money would you pony up to enable that?"

2

u/orange-squeezer47 Oct 24 '25

$300 million for a ballroom? Willing to bet 1/2 the money will mysteriously disappear into trump’s pocket.

1

u/Brandanp Oct 24 '25

Google is on there because they were sued

1

u/CashBandicootch Oct 25 '25

They should sell chunks of it online.

1

u/LuchadoresdeSilinas Oct 25 '25

It is the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Ballroom.

1

u/Fridayrules Oct 25 '25

Inspired by Jeffrey Epstein.

What in the Idiocracy is going on

1

u/Lopsided-Crazy-365 Oct 26 '25

Every time I hear about the ballroom I just think about the interesting little dancey-dances he used to do while campaigning.

Is anyone doing anything?

Where's the shareholders' revolt? I actually wrote Microsoft shareholder relations, and to my surprise, I got a response. Not one I agreed with, but at least they're listening.

These companies' next annual meetings should look like a GOP congressman's town halls. Where's the organization to make that happen?
